Took some research to make sure it was compatible, found the right wiring diagram. Installation was easy. Works as advertised. Highly recommended.

Hook this up to a pair of Yamaha 777 speaker ($ cheap). Use bi wiring with low impedance setting on amp. Spin vinyl in pure direct mode. May get a Yamaha subwoofer to match piano black finish.

This is a solid integrated amp. I have an RME ADI-2 DAC feeding the CD inputs with the amp set to its CD Direct mode for a straightforward analog signal path. I use the DAC's volume control and leave the Yamaha volume at about 12 o'clock for convenience, with suitable gain for my setup. Since the amp has A and B sets of speaker outputs, and my speakers have a bi-wiring option, I decided to separately feed the speaker's high and low frequency inputs from the amp's A and B outputs. Then, for initial testing of my wiring, I switched A-only or B-only on the amp, to confirm I would hear high-only or low-only sound. That showed my connections were as intended. Then I left the amp switched to feed both A and B. My wiring is nothing fancy, just Monoprice 14-gauge OFC, and this bi-wired hookup is similar to using a single, heavier gauge cable.

I was looking for a wireless solution since our house didn't have structured speaker wiring and doing so would be very difficult. These Play 5's allow me to fill my main floor with one speaker as well as our outdoor deck and basement walkout patio with a speaker on each level. Using WiFi is so much better than Bluetooth and more reliable with using my phone as the music source. Linking them together is an ease and the sound quality is AMAZING!

Even though I have experimented with stereo systems for almost 50 years, I had never bi-wired speakers until I recently purchased Bowers & Wilkins 603 floor-standing speakers. I was intrigued by their bi-wiring option that Crutchfield suggested could provide noticeable improvements in the overall transparency of your loudspeakers if I ran separate speaker wires to the low and high frequency drivers from a single amplifier. After doing some research, I discovered the Canare 4S11 bi-wire speaker cable at B&H. I don't claim to have golden ears, but I do want better sound at a reasonable price, so the Canare cables were interesting. However, I have to admit that to my eyes they looked sort of flimsy in the online picture, so I debated with myself about spending over $130 for two sets of 10-foot cables. Therefore, I was thrilled to discover that the two runs I ordered are not only substantial in diameter, they are professionally terminated with high quality banana cables that give me a tight fit into my vintage Audible Illusions S120 amplifier and my new B&Ws. While I can't tell you that the heavens opened and angelic choirs sang when I plugged them in, the speakers sound wonderful and I am now looking at upstream improvements in my system, including the RME ADA-2 DAC FS. My conclusion is that it only makes sense to bi-wire speakers if the speaker designer provides the option. So for me this was a great purchase. If you have speakers that offer the bi-wiring option, I highly recommending giving these a look.

This does NOT sound like a computer speaker, but rather like a home audio component. It actually has good, solid bass, not the boomy sound normally associated with this sort of speaker. I actually bought Bose as well as Sonos. Returned the Bose. I wish that it had a multiband tone control rather than just bass and treble. I started out with a Sonos 3 AND a Sonos 5. The difference was so stark that I kept the 5 and returned the 3. Now I find myself wondering what a pair of 3's and a Sonos subwoofer would be like! Hmmmm...

When my previous amplifier suddenly died, I went through a period of wondering if I should bother replacing it. In our recent house, we mostly get music through a smart TV with a speaker bar system, and our speaker system that goes with the CD and cassette player (yes, I still have CD's and cassettes -- a lot of them) no longer has a sub-woofer. This receiver checked enough boxes that I decided to continue maintaining my traditional component system. It had all the connections I currently need, it had enough power to make good sound through my great room, I have had previous good experiences with Yamaha components so I trusted the brand, and it was relatively inexpensive, which was important when I was considering ditching the component system. Two weeks in, I am thoroughly happy with my decision. I considered 4 star because it isn't as powerful as what I used to have, my speakers aren't capable of generating perfect sound now (this amp doesn't pretend to be audiophile grade), and I don't have any long-term durability record (other reviews were concerned about that). However, I decided it should be 5 star because it is doing everything I asked of it, which included being low price.

We use this component to connect an iPod to a microphone cable running to a powered speaker. Very handy also for quickly connecting a laptop or tablet to a hotel ballroom sound system. Must-have item for anyone supporting presenters who come up with sudden sound demands that weren't in the work order.

Everything looks much better now that the wiring is organized.
