Computer Keyboard Guide For Beginners

Great for my 5 year old and me (both beginners). We had been using SA-76 44 key toy, which is also fun and was ideal to dip our toes into real piano lessons, now this keyboard is a massive and natural step up without being so serious as to be intimidating or boring. In comparison to SA-76, big plusses is this keyboard is even more FUN (with DJ mixing, percussion, hundreds instruments) and still pretty lightweight and solid, with standard sized 61 keys, has metronome, with simulated weight keys, giving my fingers a workout and learning to control loudness by finger velocity. Sound quality is good, though the high notes seem a bit low in volume. Anyway as beginners, we don't notice lack of super duper concert hall resonance soundwaves piano voices anyway, when the goal is to just hit the right keys at approximately the right time as often as we can. 5 |

This is a fantastic keyboard for beginners and advanced players alike. I'm so happy that I waited for the red to come back in stock...it's absolutely beautiful and adds some extra personality to my keyboard practice. 5 |

This keyboard includes features I may never get to or use, but it is nice they are there. It provided me a reasonably priced opportunity to return to a keyboard instrument. It would appear great for beginners, although I cannot vouched for the usefullness of all of the built in lessons. I have not tried to use them much. 5 |

If you're debating this keyboard, I recommend it. Here are some minor benefits I've enjoyed: - Backlit keys when color grading in a dark room - Sturdy and doesn't slide on the desk - Bluetooth and wired work seamlessly The surprise benefit is that this keyboard works in Bluetooth mode to enter my password after a complete shutdown and power-up. None of the other non-Apple Bluetooth keyboards I own will do this. They work after a RESTART but not on POWER-UP. I was very impressed that they got this right. NOTE: The following was true when I wrote this review on September 5, 2024. This might sound very nitpicky, but the insert card that came with a keyboard directed me to the following website: Logickeyboard.com/shortcut There is no guide for FCPX. I emailed to inquire about this and was sent a link to the Apple website containing the 900+ page user manual. The shortcut guide is more of a nice to have, but I thought I would call it out anyway. 5 |

This is the second Zagg Case/Keyboard I have owned. It’s the only keyboard that I have found that allows me to type as I would on a full sized computer keyboard. 5 |

This IOGEAR GCS110-4 4-Port KVMP switch is my first purcahse of this type of gear...should have bought one years ago. I had checked out one of the other brands, but the manufacturer's web-site had the same photo and description for two models, very confusing. I am using this switch with three computer, Win7, Win8.1 and a Linux rig. I keep the fourth port open for testing other computers, no need to connect one being tested to a separate keyboard and mouse setup. This switch allows me to easily switch between computers via keyboard shortcuts. I have a Logitech Keyboard and Mouse which share a single wireless USB dongle, plugging the dongle into the keyboard USB port of the monitor area of the switch allows me to use the keyboard and mouse on all computers. I did have to uninstall the Logitech software which allowed for custom keyboard layout (volume up/down, next track, etc.) as it seemed to conflict with the way the KVMP switch emulated Keyboard and Mouse Control...not an issue for me in this case. I am not a hard-core gamer, thus do not have a mouse with 92 buttons on it..more of a FPS and Flight Sim guy here. I like the fact that I can switch the keyboard/mouse, Vidoe and USB separately from the audio, that is I can have music playing on one computer, switch the Keyboard/Mouse, Video, and USB to another computer and still hear the music from the first computer. I have all my external drives and printers connected directly to the Win7 computer working as a server for all my data. I have a USB hub connected to the KVMP input which is accessed by whichever computer I am using for such things as my web-cam, joystick, multimedia card reader, and ID CAC Card Reader. I started taking IT classes and now I can easily do remote access, learned how to access Windows Shared Folders from the Linux box...and more, having the computers side by side with one control system is a Godsend. I would recommend this switch to anyone considering such a purchase. 5 |
