I bought this to record drums. With 8 inputs, I can mic 2 overheads, 2 on the snare (top and bottom), kick, rack tom and floor tom, and still have an input to track bass at the same time. I’m using this with Studio One 5 Pro and had no problem setting it up and recording in the same day. Pristine sound and zero latency issues. Great interface - love it.

I gave up trying to cheaply record myself playing drums after too many decades of recordings that sounded like a tin roof in a sandstorm at the sea shore. Now there are many little recorders that can handle the job but this little Zoom stands out for price and ease of use. I've also used it to record a public event with voice and Tibetan singing bowls and it captured the lowest levels to the highest perfectly right out of the box by pushing a couple of buttons. I look forward to exploring all of the possibilities this versatile, handy recorder offers.

Using this to record drums at home. It's perfect. Its my first mixer and so while I am a novice (and learning), this is absolutely perfect for my needs. Very easy to use, compact, and the recording function is everything. I really have no complaints whatsoever. I can see this board staying in my music world for a long time. Its a steal at the price. Very very happy.

I bought this so I could hit record/play/stop in my DAW easily while playing guitar/drums. Once I got the drivers installed it works flawlessly. It has the added benefit of moving up or down in the track list which is nice for some limited hands-free DAW operation. It also has tons of presets I've never used which probably add useful features but I haven't bothered with all that yet. Build quality is most excellent. Top notch. Solid metal with plastic buttons roughly identical to the Boss multi-effects pedals. Having said that, I am nervous about accidentally stepping on that jog wheel. 5 stars since I can't think of any reason to deduct points for anything.

I bought this stand to mic drums overhead and also to record spoken word with a mic on a boom. It works great for both of those purposes, and I'm very happy with it.

This is my second L1. I run them in stereo from the mixer. Vocal, upright bass, keyboard and drums. Clear and clean sound.
