Computer Keyboard Shift Lock

This is an excellent little gimbal, I picked one up even though I already own the larger and much more expensive PG-02. Having the Arca Swiss base and leveling built-in, this is ready to go. I just pop it onto my tripod arca swiss mount, level the bubble, lock, and shoot. It works great with a DSLR and modest size glass. I already owned the MPR-192 nodal slide with adjustable mount, so I didn't need to include the one that is packaged with the PG-01 (that one has a fixed mount on the back of the rail itself, maybe not so good for ultra-wide lenses). The leveling lock is rock solid, and the locking knobs for pan and tilt are really cool, I wish the knobs on my PG-02 were like these. As others noted if you unscrew the locks too much, then it can wobble a bit, so you just need to loosen a slight amount and you get smooth and firm panning/tilting action. I'm actually very impressed by how smooth the panning action works, I am going to shoot some moving objects with background blur using this setup to check it out. This is also very light weight, you can break it down and connect the base to the clamp, and put it in your pocket. Pretty cool! And, since I can slide it laterally by 12mm in each direction, I can shoot lateral shift panos with my tilt-shift lenses with no problem...however, if I want to shoot vertical shift panos I will need to use my heavier PG-02. In any case, I'm super happy with this simply little gimbal head, it is a real gem and few people talk about it...but I find it to be quite clever. It is more useful than my ball head in some ways, although it isn't nearly as strong. But I'll never try to mount my big glass on this one, that's what the PG-02 is for...

Sharp, versatile... Can be tricky for metering. Remember to lock tilt/shift when not using

No surprises here. Super sharp. The shift lock could be better, but I imagine it's an engineering challenge in such a small space. As it is, I'm afraid of overtightening the tiny knob, and this leaves me hoping the lens doesn't creep down during a vertical shift. And please, Nikon, consider a redesign with independent tilt and shift sections. But I bought this lens aware of the limitation, and it performs perfectly.

This thing is awesome. But it should be for the price. The best feature is that the shift rotates independently of the tilt so no more disassembling the lens to change the alignment! It also has a tilt lock switch (locks at 0 degrees), and a tilt lock knob (for arbitrary locks). I could be wrong, but it seems that I have more shift range over the 24mm (ver 1) that I also own. That makes for a larger image if you composite. The worse part of it is I can't use a CPL because this lens is not compatible with filters due to the massive lump of beautiful glass protruding from the front.

This is a very nice lens and I look forward to many years of beautiful images. Before I purchased the lens I was taken aback by a number of reviews that complained about the tilt and shift locking knobs not tightening properly. To clarify, on page 22 of the owner's manual Nikon states, "The lens does not lock completely by turning the shift and tilt lock-release knobs. This is not a malfunction. Turning the shift and tilt lock-release knobs too tightly to lock the lens or forcibly shifting/tilting the lens when it is locked can damage it." Okay, all you he-men out there? Firm but not too tight get's the job done.

This is the second Zagg Case/Keyboard I have owned. It’s the only keyboard that I have found that allows me to type as I would on a full sized computer keyboard.

This IOGEAR GCS110-4 4-Port KVMP switch is my first purcahse of this type of gear...should have bought one years ago. I had checked out one of the other brands, but the manufacturer's web-site had the same photo and description for two models, very confusing. I am using this switch with three computer, Win7, Win8.1 and a Linux rig. I keep the fourth port open for testing other computers, no need to connect one being tested to a separate keyboard and mouse setup. This switch allows me to easily switch between computers via keyboard shortcuts. I have a Logitech Keyboard and Mouse which share a single wireless USB dongle, plugging the dongle into the keyboard USB port of the monitor area of the switch allows me to use the keyboard and mouse on all computers. I did have to uninstall the Logitech software which allowed for custom keyboard layout (volume up/down, next track, etc.) as it seemed to conflict with the way the KVMP switch emulated Keyboard and Mouse Control...not an issue for me in this case. I am not a hard-core gamer, thus do not have a mouse with 92 buttons on it..more of a FPS and Flight Sim guy here. I like the fact that I can switch the keyboard/mouse, Vidoe and USB separately from the audio, that is I can have music playing on one computer, switch the Keyboard/Mouse, Video, and USB to another computer and still hear the music from the first computer. I have all my external drives and printers connected directly to the Win7 computer working as a server for all my data. I have a USB hub connected to the KVMP input which is accessed by whichever computer I am using for such things as my web-cam, joystick, multimedia card reader, and ID CAC Card Reader. I started taking IT classes and now I can easily do remote access, learned how to access Windows Shared Folders from the Linux box...and more, having the computers side by side with one control system is a Godsend. I would recommend this switch to anyone considering such a purchase.
