Computer Monitor Built To Couch

I used the PA740 to clear some space from my tiny computer desk and to facilitate couch-based movie watching. My 27 monitor rotates almost a full 90 degrees (it could be more if I shimmed out the mount with a 1x4), which allows me to combine Office and Home Theater areas in my tiny, big city apartment. Wish I had done it sooner. I have used Peerless products at work, and have always been impressed with their sturdiness, ease of installation, and how thoroughly they equip you with mounting hardware. One nice thing about this particular mount is its small installation footprint: just two beefy screws tap into a single wall stud. Nice for those of us don't own our living spaces. Take note that this mount does not track up and down. The horizontal plane at which you mount it is pretty much what you get, although there are tilt and level adjustments built in.

Use this product so we can run sit at the couch across the room and run netflix through our computer and have a view of the screen to see what we are doing. With the wired keyboard and placement of our computer you couldn't see the screen so this just makes it all more convenient. We are not going out back to see the distance it will work but there have been no issues whatsoever with the functionality and range. Batteries still going fine even after forgetting on several occasions to turn off so no issues there. Great overall product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I work from home, it's challenging to get everything done when I need to shrink all the windows and tabs to fit my laptop monitor. I used to have an additional desktop monitor, but it was so large and heavy and not very portable for using not only at my desk, but from the couch or out on the patio. I started using the ViewSonic display just a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! It's lightweight, glare-free, and easily portable to set up beside me on the couch or out on the patio. It's simple to plug in the two cords from the ViewSonic display to connect it to the laptop. The cords are long enough to give a little flexibility for adjusting your position, but not so long that they get in the way. I only wish my laptop monitor was as good as the ViewSonic display!!

I use an external monitor with my computer that has no built-in web cam. My web-cam can sit on top of the monitor screen, but the viewing angle isn't great. (I prefer not to expose my viewers to a sharply focused view of my bald pate.) So I used this device, together with the Square jellyfish ball head (BALLHDP76) to support the webcam on the desk beneath the monitor. As the attached image shows, it works well. If this device seems to be a solution looking for a problem, I seem to have found the right problem. You're welcome....

The Ergotron is well-built and accommodates a variety of monitor and computer options. The unit arrived well-packaged and partially assembled. Final assembly and setup took less than an hour. Using the desk, the sit/stand function works well, and the adjustable tension/lift-assist makes it easy to move the desk up and down. The casters are great on hard floors or tight pile carpeting. Overall, this is a great desk. It's a more expensive, but you get what you pay for in the quality of the build.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a hobbyist photographer/videographer (I sell products but it's not my full time job) and this monitor has been excellent so far for editing. For the past several years my setup has been three 27" QHD (2K) monitors, but I recently got into drone photography and decided to replace one of the monitors with something bigger to help with editing the larger landscape photos (it has helped). I also recently built a new computer and wanted to get a 4K monitor to take advantage of the upgraded video card (that was more of a "want" than a "need" but it was definitely worth it). As for gaming, I'm way too old to be hardcore lol. For the games I do play - WOW, (non-hardcore) MOBA, strategy/simulations, etc - this monitor is a huge upgrade from a 27" QHD and delivers excellent performance. The monitor arrived well packaged with no dead pixels or any other problems. The stand isn't anything fancy but it serves its purpose - height & angle adjustability more than meet my needs (I'll probably eventually get an arm and mount it like my other 2 monitors to free up some desk space). There were some cables in the box but my desk is a little distance from my computer so I ordered a longer cable (Cable Matters DP 1.4, 16 feet) for 20 bucks and it works fine. The monitor's color gamut and brightness are great for my needs and it calibrated easily using my Spyder. I haven't used the speakers. If you need more than a billion colors, built-in hardware color calibration or an insane refresh rate, this monitor isn't for you - you'll either need to get a smaller monitor pay a lot more. But for general use, this is great monitor for the price! I've had it for 2 weeks and am very happy with the purchase.

I am using it to power a computer and monitor from one outlet. This is a well-built sturdy cable, yet still manages to delicately split the electrons almost perfectly!

Great monitor , love the built-in kvm, unfortunately I am blocked on my work computer to install software for the the kvm switch and pbp. I have to use the monitor buttons and on screen menu to select the correct input. Other that that no dead pixels, screen is awesome. I use it for work and personal laoptop, not much gaming.

This is like the size of a small computer monitor I love it! Well built, can adjust the brightness, the temperature. Use it in my workshop to light up what I'm working on. It delivers.
