I’m mostly shooting 4K HDR and then editing to a 4K SDR output and I wanted the best production monitor picture quality for under $1,000 in a mid-sized monitor for set. The Megamon being 1080p 10-bit HDR seemed close to my requirements but honestly the picture quality, accuracy, and depth of color is so good that I really don’t miss the 4K resolution from 3-5 feet away (certainly not enough to pay 8x more than I did). The mounting options, case and hood are all great and it looks killer I’m my setup. I’m excited to get out and get shooting.

This is a great monitor. It's perfect for everything from photo editing, video editing, or just every day use. The picture is bright, crisp, and clear, without any distortion or fuzziness. You won't go wrong, purchasing the Dell U2723QE.

For years I've worked with photo and video, using two 27 monitors side by side, with 2 separate screen set up on the computer. Frustrated by the massive bezel gap in between them I was keen to try this monitor out. That keeness has transformed into absolute delight and I'll be an ultrawide 32:9 evangelist for life! This monitor is astonishing, super sharp, great at 120Hz (flicker free and easy on the eyes). Picture quality and colour accuracy was amazing, and I'm sure it's an epic gaming monitor but it's the sheer joy of the working experience while editing video that has me absolutely hooked. Having an editing timeline that stretches 2/3 of the width of my screen, having tabs and windows open just as I need them, the 3 window wide split screen for apps all superb. The picture in picture mode is also amazing as I can plug in my macbook pro into one input and my PC into the other and have both on screen at the same time. The ultimate in productivity! Honestly I could go on and on. I don't think I'll ever go back to a boring 16:9 monitor again. As I said in the title, if you are a photographer or filmmaker... then what are you waiting for? Buy this monitor, you will NOT regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a hobbyist photographer/videographer (I sell products but it's not my full time job) and this monitor has been excellent so far for editing. For the past several years my setup has been three 27" QHD (2K) monitors, but I recently got into drone photography and decided to replace one of the monitors with something bigger to help with editing the larger landscape photos (it has helped). I also recently built a new computer and wanted to get a 4K monitor to take advantage of the upgraded video card (that was more of a "want" than a "need" but it was definitely worth it). As for gaming, I'm way too old to be hardcore lol. For the games I do play - WOW, (non-hardcore) MOBA, strategy/simulations, etc - this monitor is a huge upgrade from a 27" QHD and delivers excellent performance. The monitor arrived well packaged with no dead pixels or any other problems. The stand isn't anything fancy but it serves its purpose - height & angle adjustability more than meet my needs (I'll probably eventually get an arm and mount it like my other 2 monitors to free up some desk space). There were some cables in the box but my desk is a little distance from my computer so I ordered a longer cable (Cable Matters DP 1.4, 16 feet) for 20 bucks and it works fine. The monitor's color gamut and brightness are great for my needs and it calibrated easily using my Spyder. I haven't used the speakers. If you need more than a billion colors, built-in hardware color calibration or an insane refresh rate, this monitor isn't for you - you'll either need to get a smaller monitor pay a lot more. But for general use, this is great monitor for the price! I've had it for 2 weeks and am very happy with the purchase.
