Computer Not Recognizing Startech Docking Station

This is another great docking station from Startech.com. Solid build and great ports, including an SD card reader that I really love. This dock worked perfectly for my Windows-based notebook, after installing all the necessary drivers. The issues came up while testing with a Macbook Pro, but I don’t entirely hold the Dock to blame. The issue came from the MacOS version; I upgraded to the very latest version and the chipset isn’t fully supported. Look at the website (support tab) and heed readme files and driver information bulletins, if you are the sort to not jump at the latest updates, you might not have any issues. I fully believe this is a temporary situation and will be solved in short order. This is a solid docking station with a 60 watt power supply, something I think is essential in a one-cable docking solution. Video output is excellent on both HDMI and DP. This docking station was easy to set up. The quality of it seems to be nice and the docking station looks premium. It seems to be working flawlessly for what I need. I really like that it is light and works nicely with my Chromebook and 2 monitors. The packaging comes with UD-MSTHDC Docking Station, power adapter, USB-C and USB-C cable.

I'm a computer science student in university, this docking station is great and makes my life easier.

I like this docking station for work and home.

It is great - perfect for my needs traveling around the world but then 'the' office computer for me when I am in the office network environment. It runs hotter than any of my previous laptops which might not worrry anyone else as much as me and I hate it doesnt have an external on/off switch to activate it when on the docking station. Other than that it is the best buy out there for someone who needs a very robust, light powerful workhorse of a laptop that is also very comfortable on a docking station in an office.

I teleworked for a year trying to use my small, work laptop. Since I work for the government, I had no other options. When it became apparent that we would continue to telework, I decided to set myself up like my work office. I was assigned a new HP computer and immediately ordered the docking station that would accommodate it. We cannot use the USB ports on our computer for anything but a mouse (yes, we have to use a wired mouse!) so the docking station allows me to plug in two 24" screens, my external hard drive, my mouse and keyboard. It's just great to have all of those wires behind my system and my setup now is as good as it was when I was working in the office. This was money well-invested!

Working from home has been an adjustment and I needed a docking station to be able to use with my computer montinor. This is exactly what I have at work and what I needed to work from home. Excellent purchase overall, arrived quickly and I am very happy with it.

Ordered this docking station, came in the next day. It's small, and plugs into the computer/laptop via USB-C Cable, which is nice because it allows me to put my laptop in a more convenient area, and of course takes up less space. Works great too.
