I bought this point and shoot primarily for concert photography. Specifically, U2 at the Sphere. I’d seen several fans using this model, and finally took the leap and purchased one myself. I’m a professional photographer who takes photos of horse racing and sales for a living; I primarily shoot with Nikon DSLRs. Any point and shoot is going to feel like a step down, so I had to adjust my expectations. Let me tell you, the more I’ve had this camera and used it, the more impressed I’ve become with it. I took it to Death Valley on a rainy day and shot some landscapes, and was blown away by the results. The RAW files don’t lose any of their luster after editing. They’re SLR-good. At the U2 shows, the tracking was very good, and I could quickly refocus with the touchscreen if it was thrown off. The colors for concert photography are very challenging, but this proved exceptional. I am so happy with my purchase, I will be bringing this camera along with me far more than my SLRs. 5 |

It's big and it's heavy, and it's got beautiful bokeh, very sharp and is outstanding for concert photography and portraits. If I could only keep one lens with my Canon camera, this would be it. It's gotten me magazine covers. 5 |

This lens is excellent if you are looking for super wide effects. I use this lens for a lot of skateboard, surf, and concert photography, and it allows me to get very close to the subject while still capturing the full picture. The distortion this lens creates can make photos much more visually appealing. It is a very fun and useful lens to have. Many people find the uses for this lens to be limited, but I use it very often for the photography I do. 5 |

The Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens is an outstanding lens! For portraits, low lightphotography, concert photography, and more, you can't go wrong! Highly recommend this lens! 5 |

I've had this lens for a little over 2 months now. I do concert photography and needed a longer lens for getting the drummers who are always the hardest to get good shots of. I rented the first 70-200 about a year ago and it was good except pics would be soft at the high end of the zoom. When the new G2 came out and I read the reviews, I purchased one. So happy I did! I found the pics through the zoom range low to high to be sharp and the focus was fast and spot on! I shot one show with this lens only and was very happy with the pictures! And the price is makes it well worth the expense! I use this on my Nikon D750. 5 |
