Condenser Microphone Plug 1 4

I am using the Rode VXLR+ to connect an inexpensive plug-in-power (condenser) lavalier microphone (with male TRS jack) to my (female XLR) microphone pre-amp on a desktop mixer. The main objective was to circumvent the built in mic on my laptop when I am on web meetings. All I can say is Wow! Everyone says I sound crisp, clear, loud without distortion, and there is no external distracting noise coming through. I used this setup to make a recording of my voice and I was floored. This is a high quality connector with robust input and output jacks and delivers. I expect this product to last a lifetime. As always, B&H ordering, follow through and delivery was fast and flawless.

When I changed from my condenser microphone to the dynamic Shure SM7B microphone I knew the SM7B had a much lower output signal than the condenser I was replacing. Although in theory there was enough gain in my audio device interface (ADI) to be able to just plug the SM7B into the ADI and thence into my computer I was concerned about the potential noise floor increasing having to run the ADI at very high gain levels to have sufficient signal strength from the SM7B. I decided to order the FetHead when I ordered the SM7B and have the FetHead plugged directly into the SM7B XLR connector, then the XLR cable from the FetHead to my ADI. The result is a dead quiet background, and an ample signal from the SM7B into the ADI to allow for plenty of gain adjustment. The FetHead was very easy to use, literally plug and play (just ensure the ADI is providing phantom power to provide power to the FetHead). I preferred the FetHead design to competing products where two XLR cables are required with the preamp sitting in the middle connected to both cables. With the FetHead, I needed just the one XLR cable to run from the FetHead to the ADI, with the FetHead plugged directly into the SM7B XLR connector. Overall, very satisfied and would buy again if I add another SM7B to my equipment.

I bought a I bought a Rode smartLav+  Lavalier Condenser Microphone for Smartphones and this plug was needed to connect the microphone to the smartphone. (I believe these plugs come with the Smart phones but who can remember where you put it?) Just buy it and make your life simpler. Recommend both of these items together. Great for video posts. Thank you B&H for your excellent suggestions.

Use this to hold up my Blue Condenser Microphone. It's impressive because the microphone is extremely heavy #sweepstakes

This is my first condenser microphone. The product was very easy to use and provided very good results. The mic is very affordable and looks amazing.
