Configure Internet Router With Static Ip Office Network

The first time I used this I was on a foreign network so I didn't have the IP address to configure it. The device has on-screen controls though so it was an easy setup, just browsed to my NDI source and worked great. I used this with vMix for a remote monitor of the program stream. 5 |

Fast Router. Feels like a quality made product, more like an industrial or enterprise product feel. I have my SB8200 cable modem on eth0, home office on eth1, and Linksys mesh network on eth2. It took me about 30 mins to setup being new to this type of router. Used basic wizard to setup. Made sure NAT was enabled. Firewall is enabled. I had to reset cable modem to get things going. I used various videos on you tube for setup help. Router CPU and RAM barely get used during testing of several 4K Video Streams, ip phone calls, file transfers, and speed tests running at the same time. My COX gigablast connection runs at full speed most of the time. I still need to do some real throughput testing, machine to machine on local network. I use Airflow and VLC to cast 4K content from home office to my living room entertainment center. I definitely noticed a time difference. It simply takes less time for actions to engage and finish. I can tell it has a better brain. Time will tell with reliability but I suspect it will be my router for a long time. So far, I'm happy with its performance. 5 |

The UAP-AC-LR provides stable WiFi with a range comparable or better than most consumer routers, but gives additional control like the ability to create multiple SSID’s, configure tx and rx power, have fine control over channel usage, set bandwidth quotas and access restrictions by user group, etc. I paired mine with an EdgeRouter X to create a complete home networking solution with enterprise-level control. When considering this product you need to be aware of a few things: 1) This is a wireless access point only, not a router with built-in access point. You will need a separate router to route traffic on your network, and 2) You must install the controller software to configure this access point, and that certain features (statistics, reporting, manually applied user groups and the Guest Portal) require the controller software to be always running on your network; I installed it on a Raspberry Pi I already had, which works great. If either of these things sounds daunting to you, you may wish to consider the Ubiquity DreamMachine, an all-in-one controller, router and access point that also incorporates a firewall. 5 |

Great router. Granular setup when logged into rather than using an app. Internet speed on home network tripled. The old wifi 5 router could not absorb the bandwidth being provided by the cable company. Buy it. You won't be disappointed! 5 |

I have Synology NAS devices and thus expected the management software on this router to be good but it is even better than I expected. For example I can control (block) internet access to individual connected devices such as smart-plugs that I don't want phoning home to China and sending my Wi-Fi password. Can also prioritize some devices to get more bandwidth when the network is busy. So TVs don't buffer streaming video just because somebody else is downloading a big file. Configuration options are good for home or office use and includes security features I've never seen on other routers other than the Firewalla network firewall hardware. Can't comment on Wi-Fi range except that it works great everywhere in my apartment. I really appreciate that it has a tiny physical footprint -- unlike so many newer routers it takes up very little space on my office shelf. I don't have a backup internet provider so I can't use the feature that will switch to another internet source when the primary one fails. Even lets you configure an in-router VPN with free licenses for remote connections to your network. Bottom line it provides more than I need right now but has features I may want in the future, so I'm happy. 5 |

This is the 3rd ERX I have installed on a network. It a very power little router to use on the edge. The price point is very good. Its just a router and is designed to support a Small Office/Home Office (SOHO). I run multiple WiFi Access Points, Voice Over IP and Video Servers across this router and the CPU rarely goes over 10%. I would say it is difficult to set up, but does have several Wizards to get you close to where you want to be. 5 |

I bought this AP and a related router to replace an aging consumer grade wireless router which I had. Setting up this AP was a breeze and I'd recommend this to anyone wishing to implement or extend a wireless network in their home or small office. The thing to keep in mind is that this is intended to be mounted on a wall or preferably a ceiling. The router only requires a network cable and you use the included power injector to power the unit. This AP will require some other device to route the traffic from your web provider. Configuration is easy with the Unify controller software installed on your pc. Wait for the AP to power on, load the software on your pc (on the same wired network), and let it look for and provision the AP. You can configure a single combined SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz or separate and configure a guest network if so desired. Once configured, the AP has been running without issue solidly for a few weeks now. I have my PoE injector in my office and plugged into my UPS along with my modem, router, and switch. If the power goes out, all of the wireless and internet access will stay up. Be sure to test all your ethernet cables prior to installing everything. I had multiple issues with the cables I was going to use initially. One cable would only allow a max 100 connection, the other would allow gigabit, but the rj45 connector was able to pull back just enough while connected to cause an intermittent connection. Swapping to higher quality cables solved these issues. I have a 3800 sq ft house in an L shape. This AP is on the second floor in the center of the house. This works well for coverage everywhere and I've even seen coverage in areas where I had little to none previously. I've got it mounted in the ceiling of a hallway next to a smoke detector. It doesn't look too out of place except for the blue glow (which can be turned off). I'd recommend this to anyone that has basic networking and computer knowledge looking for a solid access point. 5 |

Easy to setup and configure. See exactly what you have plugged in and what IP address is on each port for identification. 5 |

Both ethernet and wifi have been great. I finally was able to setup port forwarding and static ip rules with no issues. Also love the traffic analyzer in the GUI. 5 |

Router is easy to set up and is easy to configure. Have been using it for a week and no issues. It is faster than my previous router, without changing my ISP plan. Would definitely recommend it. 5 |
