Out the box it will connect but some extra work is needed to make everything work perfectly. When connected to a tv, you may have to go into the tv's settings and adjust the screen if it is not properly fitted. The same may be done when connected to a computer and streaming to a tv. This Apple Thunderbolt 2 cable, was the cable needed to connect an older desktop MacPro(late 2013) computer to a OWC Thunderbolt 3 docking station(note: a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor is needed to connect the computer to a Thunderbolt 3 docking station.
