Connect One Usb Keyboard To Two Computers

This IOGEAR GCS110-4 4-Port KVMP switch is my first purcahse of this type of gear...should have bought one years ago. I had checked out one of the other brands, but the manufacturer's web-site had the same photo and description for two models, very confusing. I am using this switch with three computer, Win7, Win8.1 and a Linux rig. I keep the fourth port open for testing other computers, no need to connect one being tested to a separate keyboard and mouse setup. This switch allows me to easily switch between computers via keyboard shortcuts. I have a Logitech Keyboard and Mouse which share a single wireless USB dongle, plugging the dongle into the keyboard USB port of the monitor area of the switch allows me to use the keyboard and mouse on all computers. I did have to uninstall the Logitech software which allowed for custom keyboard layout (volume up/down, next track, etc.) as it seemed to conflict with the way the KVMP switch emulated Keyboard and Mouse Control...not an issue for me in this case. I am not a hard-core gamer, thus do not have a mouse with 92 buttons on it..more of a FPS and Flight Sim guy here. I like the fact that I can switch the keyboard/mouse, Vidoe and USB separately from the audio, that is I can have music playing on one computer, switch the Keyboard/Mouse, Video, and USB to another computer and still hear the music from the first computer. I have all my external drives and printers connected directly to the Win7 computer working as a server for all my data. I have a USB hub connected to the KVMP input which is accessed by whichever computer I am using for such things as my web-cam, joystick, multimedia card reader, and ID CAC Card Reader. I started taking IT classes and now I can easily do remote access, learned how to access Windows Shared Folders from the Linux box...and more, having the computers side by side with one control system is a Godsend. I would recommend this switch to anyone considering such a purchase. 5 |

I now have installed two of the StarTech USB to VGA adapters and both of them are working exactly as advertised! Two different computers, HP and Dell, both running Windows 7. Installation was a snap just down load the current driver from the internet. Instructions came with the adapters. Connected to two different monitors (both older) again worked first time for both. Worth the investment! Thanks to B&H for super service and better than expected delivery time! 5 |

The switch is very easy to use and does everything I want and need. With the only setup being to connect your monitor, keyboard and mouse, along with the computers you want to connect with. I would recommend this switch to anyone needing a KVM switch that handles DVI along with audio from all computers. 5 |

Switches computers fairly fast, including auxiliary USB. No obvious snags. I use a Macintosh keyboard and everything works as expected except the eject key, which is not important to me. Switching among Mac, Windows and Linux without a hitch. Solidly built and heavy. Both front and rear aux USB, which is nice. Also, if you turn off or suspend a computer it will automatically seek out the next one that's running (or do nothing if that was the last one closed). Can configure and operate from a wired Mac keyboard also (I don't have any Bluetooth and there are warnings regarding that approach). I was, however, not able to get it to work with VGA using any of the adapters I have. Don't count on mixing VGA and DVI therefore. 5 |

I purchased this cable to connect a desktop to an Anker USB hub which is routinely switched between one of three computers, depending on which is needed at the time. The included Anker cable is about a foot long, which is far too short to reach the desktop. This helped bridge the gap and works perfectly. 5 |

New computers have USB 3C or Thunderbolt. Use this to connect USB 3 and earlier thumb drives and accessories. 5 |

After two weeks. USB does not directly connect to to computers BUT the thumb drive system lets me quickly transfer to multiple computers and listening devices. The semi automatic arm stops ( no return to cradle ) at end and deck stops spinning most of the time, nice when I fall asleep. Sound is at least as good as my 55 year old Dual and AR turntables. I have not used the unique dust cover but realize it probably will not work well with my old but great dust bug. Turntable works fine so far and the base is heavy in a positive sense and stable. Fits well in side cabinet. 5 |
