Connect Wireless Access Point To Wired Router

I use this as an access point which is wired by ethernet to my primary synology router. I love the software and log capability of this. Functions for more than a year now without a hiccup. 5 |

Synology makes setting up this mesh router fairly simple. Power it on next to your router, use the DS router app and you're up and running in about 15 minutes. I have four of them and they are all wired. So make sure you follow the instructions and connect it wirelessly to the router first, then take it where you want on the network and plug it in. The ability to add a dozen of the MR2200's to my router means that I can create a reliable and fast wireless network that rivals my wired network in terms of square footage and then go beyond the building. My wireless devices automatically drop and connect as I move around. I could not be happier with this device because it is reliable and the range meets all my needs. I have no complaints from my network users. 5 |

This is a fantastic Access Point. You still need a router so this device can allow clients to connect and assign them an IP. Netgear insight portal is convenient and easy to use. Highly recommend it. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Router has worked well, and we were able to easily connect an access point. 5 |

We use this WR841 as an Access Point to connect wireless to a second WR841 with DD WRT configured as a Client Bridge. The PCs connect to the Client Bridge with Ethernet cable. This set up allows PCs at the other end of the house to stream TV programs from the internet. Earlier, we tried connecting the PCs with USB wireless adapters. But the signal and data throughput from the USB adapters was variable and unreliable. This setup with two WR841s, in AP/Client Bridge configuration, is just about bullet proof. We are very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend the WR841. 5 |

This is the perfect switch to expand / extend our network. We had a POE access point driven by an injector from one end of the building to the other. I needed a couple additional wired connections and was able to repurpose the existing cable to connect to this switch and then short hop the POE to drive the access point. I was able to hook up two additional wired devices and I now have 4 additional ports available for other POE or non POE devices. I love fast, simple, and very cost effective solutions. JD 5 |

This is one of the best choices for building a prosumer home network. Combined with one of Ubiquiti Networks' wired routers, such as the ERLite-3, you can easily set up a network that mirrors any enterprise/corporate setup, optimally setting your wifi access point away from your wired ethernet cabinet where the routing responsibilities belong. This particular access point has great range and signal strength, with helpful tools for analyzing congestion within the available frequency bands, as well. The 5GHz is actually very usable on these APs as well; my whole house gets a strong signal with very fast throughput on 5GHz using just one of these APs. I can't say enough good things about this hardware. Ubiquiti nails it on price-performance ratio. 5 |
