Connecting Sonos To Play Laptop Computer Audio

I had some issues connecting my computer to play through my Mackie loudspeaker but it seemed to work (with some minor feedback irritations and sound issues). I decided to look for a better solution and found the iFace...all I can say is WOW! This little unit it built for the pros and makes my computer sound like one! It's a solid unit and works flawlessly. Pro-Co's tech support was excellent in helping me find the right solution to my issues as I don't think I would have found it any other way. It's a great unit backed by a great company and worth every penny!

This is plug-and-play: it worked right out of the box on my Mac, and also on a Windows-based laptop I use for another job, connecting to my Sony FX6. I had to figure out, through trial and error, that the frame rate I send out of the camera must be 29.97 in order for the computer to understand the signal. But once I had that sorted, I wound up with an image far superior to my webcam.

I use this Y-cable for connecting two audio cords (from my desktop speakers) to my computer which only has one stereo output. It is great and I have not found any flaws. I will see how it will hold up in the long run.

The Peavey USB-P audio interface is the perfect solution for connecting your computer to a PA system. Rather than relying on the mini headphone jack to deliver audio to a million dollar concert sound system, this unit delivers a stable, clean stereo or mono signal your front of house sound people will appreciate.

The length and quality of the cable exceeded my expectations. I use it to amplify my audio by connecting my monitor or computer to the speakers stereo mini interface. Works great!

I love the Connection input on the Play 5 and while I currently own the earlier Play 5 it is still outstanding. I cannot wait to get my hands on the new Play 5. I love it when a friend comes over and has some music on a phone or other device, I can just plug it in and hear their latest favorite. In my office it also makes a compelling speaker improvement over my computer monitor and speakers. I can check out new iTunes music over a good speaker before downloading. Truly, I would love to see an Aux Input on ALL Sonos Speakers. I could drop a pair of Play 1's on my Desk and feed them from my computer. They would then do double duty as stereo music streaming from the home Sonos system but also handle computer audio needs. Right now I have the Play 5 in my office and have tuned the EQ with my iPad and still love it. Oh yeah, don't forget to enjoy tuning your Sonos speakers EQ with your iPad or iPhone. Hey how about an Android App for tuning!!!

The Sonos Play 5 is surely one of the most understated products I've ever purchased. I'm an enthusiast of high quality audio. In one of my favorite audio investment I previously made, I fell enamored with my 805 series B&W speakers; Until now. The sonos Play 5 are not in the same category as my nautilus from B&W but, next to my 805's with heavy gauge wires and a Tier one amp, they are absolutely better. Please note the 805's are significantly more expensive! The Sonos eco system integration is still somewhat immature (Amazon ECHO, desktop streaming, IOT, etc) but, that's not the speaker limitation but, the Sonos software. So here's to exceeding in value, quality and performance and hopes of a rapid software development cycle.

I use this speaker alongside a five and a move in a multi speaker setup. Sometime they play together in the same room, sometimes they play in separate rooms. For the moment I have it set up together and the range of sound between the Era, Five, and Move is immersive. The Era did seem to have an immediate expansion to the sound over the Five, somewhat akin to the sound enhancement / loudness boost in Apple's Music App. My only issue with Sonos - which hasn't been a deal breaker - is that with AirPlay it can be really finicky: dropping off the network for no apparent reason, difficult to get connected again. Maybe because it's audio this only seems to be an issue with the HomePods and Sonos. I don't have this kind of issue with other WiFi connected devices. Only dropped packets or higher latency at times. But only the audio devices completely drop off. That said, it's not clear if that's the network, the router, or what. I did just get a new router with multiple antennas, but I don't have extenders (yet).
