Connecting To Internet Through Router Edgerouter Lite

I upgraded from an EdgeRouter-Lite. Transferring the ER-L configuration to the ER-4 was as simple as downloading config from the ER-L and uploading the file to the ER-4. 5 |

I bought the Edgerouter 4 after my Edgerouter Lite appeared to have died after 4 1/2 years. It turned out to be a bad power brick, so the Lite is back in service after replacement. I kept the Edgerouter 4 for a second site and it's running just fine. As others have said, Edgerouters are not the easiest to use. While they do have a GUI that can do the basics, the CLI is where the full potential lies. Some enterprising people have even extended its capabilities through homegrown software. While I have rated this 5 stars, I do have to warn people that the future of Edgerouters is in doubt. Ubiquiti appears to have all but stopped development of it. There hasn't been a firmware update in over a year. When firmware isn't regularly maintained, security vulnerabilities become a concern. 5 |

Really wonderful piece of hardware. FAST, dependable highly configurable. I got the Edgerouter Lite router and just HAD to get the matching switch. Really worth the money! 5 |

Got AT&T fiber over a year ago and bought an Edgerouter Lite. While it performed decent it was slow at times and not quite able to keep up with a household of 3 power users. After replacing it with the ER-4 we have noticed significant improvements not only in our network but also with being able to manage the router. 5 |

We had a microphone that was no longer connecting. Through troubleshooting discovered it was the microphone transmitter. This part was an easy swap and quickly got our microphone back up and working again. 5 |

Works with the Sony FS7 without connecting the wire! Through the regular battery connection, that is. It is a major breakthrough since previous models relied on the external DC connection, and the supplied cable eventually broke. Half the price of the Sony and lasts me 4 hrs operation, while powering a 6inch external monitor through its very handy P-tap. And it sticks out of the FS7 just the right amount to be able to use the p-tap outlet. 5 |

I love how there's so much information on connecting things correctly. Meaning I don't cuz there's nothing. Through MUCH trial and ERROR I found this fits my Canon M50 body perfectly. The other side does NOT fit my explore scientific ed80 at all BUT it does fit the Orion field flattened for short refractory perfectly. Just have to say do your research EXTENSIVELY so you're not returning things that don't fit. This is great and we'll made. Love it! 5 |

Replace your consumer grade wireless router you bought from @ with an EdgeRouter or USG from Ubiquiti and one of these access points and the days of dropped connections and flaky netflix are over. This access point has been shown in some studies to actually improve your IQ by a measurable amount as well as help bring harmony to your home. The glowing blue ring of wifi bliss is an added night lite bonus. (can be turned off)If your switch does not support POE you must use the supplied injector. The power cord on the injector is very short, so plan ahead. This unit does not even blink when faced with almost 20 wireless devices simultaneously connected. Phones, Rokus, laptops, Dish Hoppers, iPads, android tablets, etc. 5 |

This was much easier and quicker to deploy than the Edgerouter. It also combines the functions of a router/firewall along with the cloudkey to make management easier and better 5 |

For under $60, this EdgeRouter X is easily the best bang for your buck when it comes to routers. Theres more functions that youll probably ever need to use and configure. I created a VLAN for my guest users to isolate my LAN devices -- my guests are on 192.168.2.1/24 whereas myself and LAN devices are on 192.168.1.1/24. This router is not plug-n-play per se, although it is defaulted as a switch, you will still need to tinker around the web interface (or SSH) to get the most use of the router. Highly recommended to the novice/advanced users with networking knowledge, might be a bit too technical for the beginners. 5 |
