Construction Paper Scans

Scans very quickly, with great quality, finally got rid of a lot of paper at home!

I love this printer!!! Even though I was sent a free sample to use for this review this printer is FABULOUS!!! The canon MAXIFY mb5420 is a sturdy yet lightweight all-in-one home office printer with the capability to print out pictures as well. It holds lots of paper (2 trays of 250 sheets each), it faxes, scans, copies and prints as well. The automatic document feeder even scans both sides of the paper (if it is two-sided) at the same time which is AWESOME because it saves time, paper and money. As I work from home on a p/t basis a Notary Public this printer is a big plus for me!! Now I can notarize for the public and keep copies for my records as well. Plus being that this printer faxes I am now able to offer faxing (for a modest fee) as well. Assembly was quite simple, just a few things to slip into place and I was off and running! Printing is fast, and the output of my prints and/or copies is very clear and sharp. The best thing about this printer is that it is Wi-Fi capable...which I already have in my home anyway so all I had to do was set it up and by its being wireless I was able to eliminate the use of more wires, usb cables, etc. The Maxify exceeded my expectations because of the capacity of the amount of paper it holds and the fact that it can be hooked up very easily if you have WE-Fi access. But the best feature about this printer is that it can print from compatible Android devices. I use my mobile phone for everything (business as well as personal) so having the ability to print from my mobile phone is EXTREMELY an advantage to me. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this printer to my family, friends and co-workers who do work from home because for the reasonable price paid for this printer you get lots of great features and services in a compact printer.

Fantastic paper for home use, I use it to print digital scans of film as well as digital photos on a Canon Pixma 9000 mkII. It renders colors well and doesn't break the bank.

I use this paper to print scans of my paintings as well as photography. The result is something which is to me unrivaled as far as other papers out there. It is heavy, non-flimsy. The surface gleams, rather than shines; it's something less 'glitzy' and more elegant - - a satin-esque radiance, rather than a specular one. No one can be disappointed in this paper, I can't recommend it enough.... worth every penny. I wish it came in more sizes.

If you want to have a paperless office, this scanner must be on your desktop. Amazingly, it scans doublesided printed paper. The software is basic but therefore simple.

I use this paper mostly for printing black and white film scans and I love how the paper looks. The texture is subtle but gorgeous, and it allows for really nice blacks. It is slightly off-white, which I like. It reminds me of a nicer version of Foma's Velvet darkroom paper, which was my favorite while printing in the wet darkroom. I also have used it for a few color prints but the ones I have printed don't have a wide range of colors and tones - they are more minimal so I can't really speak to how the paper does with color.

COLOR PRINTS ARE VERY GOOD WHEN USING A DECENT QUALITY PAPER. SCANS AR E EA SY TO DO. I THINK THE TANK CONCEPT IS SMART AND EFFICIENT. THE REAL TEST, OF COURSE, WILL BE HOW IT PERFORMS IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

I printed digital manipulations of scans microscopic lines that were originally etchings. The paper held the ink wonderfully. I used the paper to cover a 22'x16' wall. It held tight and looks great. I was initially using Infinity BFK, but it was too stiff and way too expensive. Nice paper, but not for what I was doing. Can't think of anything that isn't good about this paper. It is affordable. It prints well. It flattens right off the roll. Don't be deceived by the low price. This is some quality stuff.

The scans are blazing fast, and the output is crisp and clear. The paper feeder handles pages pretty well, with only occasional misfeeds. The software on the Mac is less capable than Windows but good enough for all the basic functionality. The UI hides some settings in highly unintuitive places, so you'll probably end up having to read the manual even if you're very tech-savvy. The price is very good. All in all, a very recommendable document scanner.

I use this paper to print digital film scans for my photography class and I'm enjoying having smaller paper to work with in addition to the 8x10 paper required for the class.
