Control Lg Sound Bar Volume With Samsung Remote

I like that my new roku has the volume control on the remote so i only need one remote.

Replaced an old samsung 2.1 sound bar. This is so much better. I can hear clear dialogue and never need to mess with the volume when changing channels as I had to with my old system. Set up was quick easy. Vizio is a good quality product.

We bought a competitors soundbar about a year ago and it has performed fairly well but once we plugged in the Samsung bar you could really hear an improvement in sound quality. The install was also incredibly easy, just plugged it in with the included HDMI cable and it worked right away. We were worried that it wouldn't fit under out TV but it was the exact right size and it looks super sleek and stylish. The Space Fit Sound feature works with the environment of your room to optimize the sound audio and I feel like that really comes through. Our TV room is a pretty big space and I'm able to hear dialogue much better at a lower volume with this bar compared to the last one. I love the little info scroller screen in the front too. It was hard to tell what the last sound bar was doing and this one tells you what setting it's in and the volume level on the scrolling screen. The adaptive sound mode for better dialogue quality is handy because I hate having to turn the volume up and down during films to make sure I'm hearing the voices well without having the action scenes blow out my ear drums. Overall it's just a really great product and I'll be recommending it to family and friends in the future and buying more Samsung items myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve been experimenting with settings on the LG Sound Bar for about a week. Some of this was done blind because LG, like many companies, includes one page of very basic instructions. I found days later (in tiny type) it was my responsibility to download and print a user’s manual. On the remote some buttons are poorly labeled, others are not labeled at all, and we couldn’t find how to adjust sound up or down until I printed the manual. A black-on-black button (not helpful in semidarkness) which I would use probably more than anything else needs to have a color like other buttons. We tried using both optical and bluetooth connections, and there is a tremendous difference in what those options offer. With bluetooth, you use the TV remote to “accept” the sound bar prompt and can adjust sound up or down using that same remote. It also shows the sound level numerically which is helpful. With optical, it automatically turns on the sound bar when the TV is activated, but adjusting sound is done using the LG remote which has that black-on-black button, and no numerical level is displayed on the TV. Our preference is using bluetooth as it’s fewer remotes to deal with. In terms of sound, there is a huge difference between what we had before and the LG. You can adjust settings for more or less bass, and you really hear the difference with increased bass. It adds richness that is wonderful. Acting dialogue is crisp and clear. When music is played during a movie the symphonic effect is incredible. The range is terrific too. Having great sound brings another layer of enjoyment to watching movies. Since I just printed the manual yesterday we haven’t fully explored everything this sound bar can do yet. However, at this point, I would recommend the LG Sound Bar for the amazing quality of sound that it delivers.

The sound bar is excellent and the so is the control software. I have a Samsung NU8000 TV (2018) and I found out the hard way that it doesn't support DTS. Any DTS input signal is downgraded to PCM stereo when using ARC on the TV :( It appears Samsung dropped DTS support in 2018 so be careful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG soundbar delivers impressive sound quality without taking up too much space. Its sleek design fits seamlessly with my TV stand. While the remote control is a bit confusing initially, the LG soundbar mobile app offers a convenient alternative. I was able to easily pair my TV remote to control the soundbar's volume, which is a nice touch. The bass is powerful and enhances both movies and music, and vocals are clear and easy to understand. Unfortunately, I didn’t experience a strong sense of surround sound; the audio primarily comes from the front. Nevertheless, the overall sound quality is excellent for the price.

Setup: 5/5 Took about 10 minutes to setup. The only slight hiccup I had was that I pulled the power strip out of the outlet when putting my Media Center back in place. Other than that the instructions and wizards were very clear on what needed to be done, and worked wonderfully. Ease of use: 5/5 If you used the roku remote before, it works seamlessly with your current remote. Universal remotes that control the volume on the TV will also control the speaker volume, which was a pleasant surprise. I haven't used the voice remote much, but I've never been a big voice remote user in general, so I can't comment on that. Sound Quality ((4/5) For it's class) They sound about on par with a 2.1 soundbar and sub woofer. I was really quite surprised by the quality of bass that these speakers produced. I was fully prepared to have my first recommendation be to have a sub woofer port. Though I'd still like that feature, it's really not as necessary as you'd expect from a pair of small Bluetooth stereo speakers. Value: 5/5 For the money, they are better than most soundbar/subs in this class, and far easier and cleaner to setup. They do not replace a 5.1+ system or anything, but they also are significantly less costly, and easier to setup than most comparable, and costlier, sound bars.

If you want ATMOS and DTX:X audio this sound bar package packs it with nine speakers, yes 9. A great combination of sound bar speakers, remote subwoofer, and surround sound speakers. One more GREAT point to keep you reading…shop, find it, and be absolutely surprised that you can get this quality at that price point. So as you can tell I’m thrilled with this sound bar and my VIZIO TV. Plug and go. It’s that easy. I have been a fan of large speaker systems that take up a ton of room, wires everywhere because I wanted the sound that I thought you could only get from that setup. More good news. All the sound you’ll want you get with this setup. In addition one remote and a powerful remote at that. If you don’t have a VIZIO TV I read that this remote can learn your TV remote to keep you at 1 remote. Total control with the remote. You control left, center, right, sub, surround, height speaker, effects, equalizer, inputs etc. One really nice element is a remote with a display. Makes it really easy to understand and control your environment. There are some cool things I haven’t done yet. I have used by smart speaker to control things but you can also connect your smart speaker directly to the sound bar. Last the accessory package has everything you might need. HDMI, optical, wall mounts, etc. Ever buy something and then need to order a cable or HDMI cable, or something else. They even provided cable ties to keep your surround sound speaker wire nice and neat. Bottom line, you’ll be thrilled.

This sound bar is easy to setup and simple to control. The remote makes it so easy a cave man could do it. Movies with the surround sound and my 55 tv feels like it's a movie theatre! Some of my favorites to watch are Inception, The Dark Knight, and, American Sniper. Good bang for your buck too, highly recommended!
