The concept behind this kind of extender is simple. Transformers at each end convert between the unbalanced RCA (or stereo mini) signal and balanced audio on twisted pairs of the CAT cable. Many products out there now for this, but much more expensive. I used these recently to get audio between two distant areas in a restaurant and it worked great. I doubt the transformers are of the quality I'd want for critical audio, but for background music and TV it's fine! 5 |

I used two of these adapters on a simple show: stereo 1/8 to RCA out of my laptop then into these adapters to convert to XLR for a pair of powered speakers. I didn't encounter any problems or sound quality issues, just plug and play. 5 |

I am using this handy little unit to convert stereo RCA to stereo XLR and back to RCA. This allows me to use pro equipment such as a active crossover and equalizer with my consumer equipment. The unit is two converters in one box, so I am using one side to convert RCA to XLR and the other side to convert back to RCA again. 5 |

This is a quality product. Bulletproof, I use it to convert my front stereo mic (5 pin ) into two separately controlled mic inputs. So with this cable I can have 4 separately controlled mic inputs on an ENG type camera. 5 |
