Compact with excellent image quality, close focus and a cool retro look. A winner!

This is a cool retro camera that will give you photos that actually look like they were taken in 1979.  If you are expecting iPhone quality photos printed on a nifty Polaroid instant print film frame, then you will be disappointed.  Judging by the quality of the photos, the under-saturated colors and the look and feel of the overall image quality, I doubt this camera was introduced to compete with a smart phone. This camera is ideal for those with a creative streak who want to experiment with a different look all together.  Consider taking a whole bunch of photos, scan them into your computer and then create a collage.  That would be very artistic and a good use for this camera.  Another good use would be to use the photos to hastily storyboard a video by pasting the photos onto a large piece of cardboard and use a black felt tip marker to write and draw in examples. An even funner use is to just horse around taking photos and then laugh at what they look like.  I consider this camera to be a toy but in the right hands, even a toy can create great artistic beauty.  A good photographer with a keen eye can pick up this camera and still end up with great photos with that late 1970s look.

Loving my Instax Mini 40! It's straightforward with a cool retro look. Just point and shoot, and you get instant photos with a charming, vintage feel. It's not for professional shots but perfect for fun, spontaneous memories. Films are a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the unique experience.

It's a very solid build, super cool retro look, and nice optics. I use it for portraiture and street photography. As expected, a 1.2 lens is a bit soft when fully open but sometimes that's a nice effect.

If you need that retro look then these fit the bill. I bought 200 and am going to buy even more. customers love getting these cause they look cool and they are CD's.

this came out exactly the way I wanted to photos to come out. It gives it a cool tone retro look. I think the lighting really helped it as I went to a cemetery during the golden hour. Also the residents were really easy to work with and i got perfect shadowing. i will definetly by this film again.

At first I wasn’t too keen on going to mirrorless cameras because I was happy with my DX system but when I saw this retro looking Nikon I just couldn’t resist. In my opinion, it just screams retro film and I absolutely love the styling and feel of it. I took it out as soon as it came in and tested it out. I’m pleased to report that it performs as good as it looks. Nikon really nailed it with this retro styled camera. I realize it is not for everyone, but I grew up with film cameras and love the look.

Bought this to retro fit my carry on roller case as a hard shell cameras travel case. It for nearly perfectly. I only had to shave a bit off on one side to make room for the latch mechanism. The precut cubes are easy to remove by gently pulling away from adjacent row and then sliding fingers down to break them free the rest of the way. If any cutting is necessary to make it fit, a razor blade or serrated kitchen knife works great with little mess.
