Cooling House Unit Without Electricity

This unit seems to function well, thus giving me some peace of mind over the quality of electricity my equipment is exposed to. I just lost the amps of a pair of powered speakers due to issues with electricity provided by the venue. I feel much more confident with this units display of info about the electricity.

I like what I can do with this unit. I can tell exactly how much electricity my equipment is using and how much equipment can be hooked up to the battery; which handles all my computer equipment easily. I can tell when and for how long the electricity has been off and the time on battery. I like how they put the front panel at an angle which makes it easier to see while on the floor as compared to their earlier models(which were flat). I can just look down and see the voltage coming into my house; which is nice since I have had issues with the electric company in the past.. This unit has plenty of back up to do it's basic function which is to keep everythng powered up in an outage and allows you to do a proper shutdown; and you don't have to rush to shutdown like you might with lesser units. It tells you how much time you have left on the battery. Even the modem cable goes through this unit; so I would feel confident my equipment would be safe even with a lightning strike. You can micro manage your electrical use or just plug and play and not worry about outages or spikes

The only real complaint that I can have is that my system cooling my house simply isn't up to the task of what Nest can do. Other than that, it was an easy install and maybe 4 days before I didn't have to touch the temp anymore.

I have 3 of these through out my house. ( 2150 sq. feet) Without them I had glitches, and internet dropping constantly while on the computer. (The internet company said everything was fine on their end, and I already had high speed.) Thank you AMPLIFI !!

For a 1TB unit, its smaller than I thought it would be . . . but . . . it still has a cooling fan. And when I spend hours editing video projects its nice to know that that fan is keeping the heat under control. I think this unit is going to work out well . . .

I got a new furnace and central air unit and the Heating and cooling company that I won’t with offered the thermostat. I like how I can get up in the morning and turn the heat up and then get out of bed

I was concerned about if the cooling fan in the unit might be a problem since I will be using this for video work, but was pleasantly surprised. Unless the microphone was right next to the light I don't think it would pick it up. When I used it I was the only one of 4 people in the room that could hear it.

The large sweep of the fan blades moves a lot of air. This unit is quiet. I have used other cooling pads, but the fans are much smaller. I like the variable speed fan of the Thermaltake. (The decorative lighting around the unit seems kind of silly, but is a bit entertaining.)

I'm planning to shoot a week of all-day interviews in the future and am concerned about the possibility of thermal shutdowns. To address this, I’ve purchased the Tilta Khronos Cooling System from B&H for added safety. Before buying, I wasn’t aware that the unit could also charge the iPhone while cooling. It fits perfectly using MagSafe on all my cages, including SmallRig, Neewer, BeastGrip, and my customized system. The Khronos Cooler is made from titanium and is surprisingly light at 106.5g. It has two power modes and two fan speeds. At full speed, it’s extremely quiet. The sound level couldn’t be detected above ambient noise using a decibel app on my iPad placed beside the fan. The unit is very sturdy, and its body functions as a heat sink. In an amateur, unscientific cooling test, the Khronos unit cooled down by 9°C (17°F). I plan to recommend this unit to my students.

This cooling pad provides good air movement to keep the laptop temperatures down and hopefully help extend the life of the unit. A $+ pad top protect a $1,000 laptop is a no-brainer.
