Copy Silhouette Library To Usb Flash Drive

I purchased this for my wife so that she could carry her large iPhoto library between her two computers. When it arrived, I copied her photo library to the drive. I thought an error had occurred when it finished becaused it finished so fast. Then I tested the flash drive. With larger files, I was seeing read speeds of 25-28MB/s (that's BYTES) per second and write speeds of 15-20MB/s. I currently own about 8 different USB 2.0 flash drives in sizes from 8GB to 64GB. None are even close to this fast. Hope it lasts because it's a great flash drive. It would also make a decent bootable backup drive or emergency drive. The only drawback is the slider piece of plastic that slides over the USB male connector. First, it doesn't completely cover the connector meaning that lint and fuzz can get inside. The bigger problem is that it's hard to move the slider.

Tested with 100GB of video files. First, it reaches around 570~590MB/s. After 15% of copy, it drops to 250~270MB/s. The USB will get hotter after 3mins of copying. Actually, this is way better than any USB flash drive so far. The burst copy is all I need. If you are looking for a consistent super fast speed drive. Get an external SSD, not a USB flash drive.

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

This drive is used for storing my music library and as such 'travels' quite bit. It's fast (usb 3), small, and easy to use. It's also very quiet which is important since it's connected to my stereo system.

This is the second one I have purchased. The drive works so well and I am using both of these for off-site storage, primarily for my photo library and LR Catalogs. One thing that is not mentioned in the manual - WD does recommend using the Safe to Remove app before disconnecting the drive to guarentee it is not still in a read/write mode. I'm still using these drive on a USB 2.0 system and actually they seem faster than the internal HDD on the system. I'll upgrade to USB 3 soon.

It didn’t erase the USB thumb drive that, before after a format would say copy protected? Other than that seems to work good.
