I purchased this to mute my Crown CM-311 headset mic that I wear while playing drums... It is EXACTLY what I needed, works with phantom power, barely perceptible pop when engaged. I bought this particular model because it has a blue indicator light which is on when active. It now resides on the floor just to the left of my hi-hat stand, and it has thus far kept up under constant usage for the past month! 5 |

I am loving this microphone. First, it is simple to use. I plugged it into my Apple laptop and also my PC desktop and it showed up right away on both. No issues. I'm impressed with the sound quality this little guy produces. It sounds really good and strong. Much better than the built-in mic of my laptop or the mic that is part of my webcam on my pc. And because it is omnidirectional, the sound stays consistent when I turn my head or move around. I also like that I can pull it closer very easily if I ever want to, and then just tuck it away if not in use. The buttons to mute the mic and/or audio output make using this very convenient and easy. It is so much easier to just hit the mute button on this to cut off my mic, as opposed to trying to mute the mic with the video conference software. I love having that option. And the bright lights make it very easy to identify quickly if your are muted or not. I also love that it has a headphone jack. This is so convenient and helpful for a variety of situations. Having a headphone port is obviously helpful for video calls, but also great for everyday use. Since I have my desktop placed on the floor under my desk, I no longer have to reach under the desk to plug in my headphones. This puts the headphone jack right on my desk which is very helpful and convenient. The volume control dial is another nice feature. Power for this mic comes from the computer's USB port, so there is no need for replacing batteries or recharging. I'm very happy with this microphone, it is working great in my set-up and made things so much easier and gave me much better audio quality. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review] 5 |

Love that they have a boom mic with a mute button; people have noted the sound improvement over the simpler model I had. Great for calls, zoom calls, podcasts. Have not tried with music yet. So comfy I forget I am wearing them. My ears get some with ear buds, and hot with cup-style headsets, so these are PERFECT. I am prone to headaches and worried about the bone conduction as an issue, but this is my second set of shikz and it is NOT a problem! My son, who is on calls all day for work, tried them... and ordered his own immediately, despite the fairly high cost. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a simple and easy to use microphone. I found it picks up my voice well from 6 or so inches away from my mouth. It doesn’t pick up much background noise. This allows me to use it without needing to constantly lean forward to talk. This also allows me to use it and not have the mic in the cameras view. Tap the volume button to mute and the light on the end of the mic turns red. Tap to unmute and the light turns green. I find this mute feature is more convenient to use when on a video call instead of on the computer. 5 |

This mic mute foot switch is tremendous and zero noise when engaging. We use it for our drummer for a talk back function because of he’s in a drum booth during rehearsal and communication in our ear monitors during playing. Great product! 5 |

Voice quality great. Well build and sure not going to tip over since it is heavy. I like that this mic has a mute button and directional settings. All you have to do is hook it up to a USB port and it installs itself quickly. I did have to learn to unplug it in order to hear videos playing on my computer. 5 |

If you wish to use your HSC 271 with your computer or cell phone, this is the correct cable to use. This cable takes six-pin mini-XLR and turns it into 2x 3.5mm TRS plugs keyed to the usual PC inputs. Only five wires are actually live here, the HSC's mic mute wire is not cabled through. That shouldn't make a difference because the computer will not understand the mute signal anyways.Pinouts as followsmXLR - TRS Mic (purple)Pin 1 - Sleeve (ground)Pin 5 - Ring (mic signal)Pin 6 - Not Cabled (mic mute signal)mXLR - TRS Headphone (green)Pin 2 - Sleeve (ground)Pin 3 - Ring (audio left)Pin 4 - Tip (audio right)This will plug right into most PCs and Macs with standard mic-level audio input and amplified audio-output onboard. It will also work (with appropriate adapter) with modern Macs that have combined TRRS (four pole) 3.5mm inputs. Computers like MacBook Air, also 13 and 15 Retina MacBook Pro. Some newer Macs with dual audio ports have a line-level audio input only, but support the TRRS mic-level input on the headphone jack. This will also work with cell phones, using the appropriate adapter of course. Samsung Galaxy S2/S3, HTC One X, Sony Xperia P, etc. Will NOT work with iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch due to them expecting a lower input voltage than this headset provides. A resistor placed inline to lower the voltage of the mic input can work, but is not an assured solution.Note that this cable is not a special cable. The bias voltage provided by the devices in question is enough to power the condenser mic sufficiently. It is possible to buy any HSC 271 cable, strip the ends, and attach whatever leads you like to get the same result with this hardware.Cable quality is just fine. 5 |
