This lens is a life saver! After losing my 24-70mm /2.8 to the Atlantic Ocean (long story...sigh) about 1 1/2 years ago. I have since which have been without a lens to fill that void. I was one lens away from securing the Nikon Holy Trinity! when disater struck!(kerplunk!) Since then I've gained a D700 along with my already aging D300 I needed another lens to fulfill the Wide angle void and the medium telephoto void. Long story short the 16-35mm/f4 has helped fill the void BIG time. I have the Wide on the D700 and switch to the D300 when needed. Most of my photography is event style, so often i'll have the D700/16-35m/f4 and D300/50mm/1.4 (75mm equiv.) This has worked wonderfully! My pictures are very consistant in quality due to D700 higher Iso and the 50mm/ 1.4 breathed new life into my aging D300. Sometimes as a one camera/lens solution I pair the 16-35mm/f4 and D300 together for an effective 24-52.5mm which gives a nice walk around lens in (35mm) terms. I am now comptemplating the 24-120mm/f4 and the 85mm/f 1.4 to complete my aresenal. Go NIKON!! 5 |
