This board is killer. I prefer it to the Z790 , a virtually identical board to the 690 but with a more IO options. Paired with the components listed below, I can do anything from Video editing to gaming , streaming and IT Administration. I have heard that Asus can be difficult when it comes to RMA and that they are working on improving thier work flows in that area and well, I have not had to test the validity of those claims since I have never had an Asus product fail on me in more than a 2 decades of Asus being my products of choice. I decided to replace my 2006 quad core Mac Pro with this machine. It is SOOO quiet. It is quieter than my Macbook Pro. I hooked it to my old 30 cinema display and it is terrific. It is fast and makes work a pleasure. As you know all the hard drives are externally accessed. I decided to keep my old mac pro and attached it to one of the ethernet ports on both. It works very well as a file server. I can run the old mac pro through sharing screens.

I am still getting my new Mac Pro set up; however, all things seem like they are going to be great.

I installed a pair of Corsair MP600 Pro LPX 4TB M.2 drives in this unit and have them in a RAID 0 configuration. I'm running an old Intel Mac Mini, so speeds are not optimal, but the external drive is faster than Apple's internal SSD that came installed in the laptop. I have to put my ear right next to the dock in order to confirm the fan is running, so noise certainly isn't an issue.

I had both the Open Swim and the Open Run Pro and now I only need one headset as this one does it all. THANK YOU!
