My wife accidentally tossed my original Pro Pen 2 into the wash and while it was usable after drying out, much of the pressure sensitivity was gone. I had been getting by with the original Pro Pen since Wacom has been sold out of the Pro Pen 2 since introducing it, but you quickly miss 8k levels of pressure sensitivity, so being able to pick this up was a life saver.

Honestly I was on the fence with buying these are the cost is outrageous compared to other ones and in my area there is nowhere to go to try them out or take a look at them. However, I love B&H and the fact that they will help you with problems and returns if you hate something. That being said I decided to give it a go and honestly, I don't regret it. I pair them with a Canon Mark IV and Canon 1DX and from the moment I got them, they have paired seamlessly. They fire as they are supposed to and not a single thing goes wrong. They are easy to hook up to your pc and mac to update the firmware and I called profoto just to get a sync cable to have in case of emergencies and they were amazing and sent it to be right away. I love these lights. love love love love. if you are on the fence. STOP it and just do it.

Just like many before me, I was on the fence about investing in the Profoto light system as a result of their cost and the price for the modifiers. I had the opportunity to put the Flashpoint Xplor600w up against the D2, and the Flashpoint held it's own up against the Profoto. I tested both strobes individually at full power with a Sekonic light meter at a distance of 15 feet away. The Flashpoint registered 10.0 f/stops, with the reflector and diffuser attached. Then I took the Flashpoint off of the light stand and replaced it with the D2 and the meter reading registered 8.0 f/stops. Was really impress with the quality of light and the fast recycle times of the D2, it was giving the ready beep before I could click the stopwatch. My only gripe so far has been that the D2's will not run on the PCB MiniVagabond. It may require the xtremeversion but PCB has not confirmed. As for me, the 500W profotodemonstrateda fast powerful light. But then for a fraction of the cost, that Flashpoint did practically the same thing. I like shooting with a 2nd light to act as a seperator, it will cost me another $400 for some sync devices or another $2 grand to get another profotostrobe. I think the Proto strobe is cute, but I think the look of cash in my account is a little more attractive. Still on that fence....

expensive but worth it in the long run - unfinished but you can stain it yourself

well built - unfinished though, so you may want to stain it if you use it outdoors or in messy locations
