This cpu is a nice upgrade from the 12900k, especially when wanting the fastest i9 on the planet But it's release is a bit late considering the 14900k/s is potentially just a few months away... and may have slightly improved clocks/memory compatibility and lower power draw(not sure by how much, but will be mostly likely small gains). I did have a few system lock ups - but improved with bios update and new settings - though still frustrating having random crashes, on msi z690 mpg wifi, ddr5 6400. Cinebench 23, Thermal throttled for me with a 280aio at 6.2/5.8ghz(39,888) but gaming was only about 70C...(auto voltage setting)... Fun to mess around with benchmarking utilities 5 |

Very powerful CPU and a huge upgrade from my 2700X. I tried using it on my X470 motherboard, but it just couldn't deliver enough power. Crashed anytime the CPU was heavily used. Upgraded to a new X570 motherboard and my system has been rock-solid since. 5 |

I wanted this unit for the quad core CPU at 1GHz. I would say this is a good refresh or upgrade from the Edgerouter X and Lite. The CPU doesn't spike under normal home use. I do not use any of the advanced features like DPI that could load this down.�Right now I use SQM to help with bufferbloat and get my desired speeds from my cable provider (350Mb down and 20Mb up) . The only other reason for this kind of router is VLAN support for LAN segmentation at home, which I plan to use for my IP cameras and NVR, and IoT devices. 5 |
