The Watson NP-BX1 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack and Charger Kit is perfect as a second backup battery. The charger has an easy to see charge indicator light !

I purchased the Watson CR123 rechargeable batteries(2)with charger for a Minolta 35mm film camera. I was reluctant at first because the disposable batteries are very expensive. BUT I tried them out and they are GREAT...They came already charged and work just as well with my camera. PLUS I get 2 batteries and a Charger for the price of 2 disposable batteries...I use other Watson chargers and am satisfied with their performance.

After using Storacell battery holders for AA's for so long, I immediately looked for the CR123 version when I was given an old Nikon N80 recently. This is perfect, because I can just toss spare batteries in my bag without a second thought. It's also convenient that I can flip batteries around in the holder to remind myself if I have spent batteries in there.

I have been using this for about three months, and found that it burns through expensive CR123 3V batteries, from my local retail store at $14.99 for two. Especially if it gets turned on in your bag, but even switch off it seems to drain the battery. I started removing the battery when not in use. A better solution is to add rechargeable CR123 3.2V or CR123 3.7V batteries that Quantum support said will work. I went with rechargeable CR123 3.2V batteries. Plus you will need a special charger. I have a Intellcharger i4 by Nitecore about $25 but it works with AA, AAA and CR123 and several others battery types as well. As for the Co-Pilot I drive three remote Qflashes that I have been using with much success, much better range and control that my old IR Canon Speed light trigger. I seem to use manual mode more than TTL. They both work, but in manual mode I see more change when I adjust then power, as opposed to using TTL and flash composition. I use the Co-Pilot with two Trios and T5d-R with FW7Q attached. For daylight shoots I use the two Trios more because of the high-speed sync. Trios at 80Ws and T5d-R at 150Ws used in a Softboxe that zap power but the bare bulb is better than any speed light in a Softbox and I end up with a portable studio quality light. This configuration gives me lots of flexibility to configure the light for the situation. I still have some stuff in my wish list for light shaping. This remote trigger is reliable, low cost and light weight. I like the rotary switches that I can move without having to put on my glasses and then get into a menu to adjust my lights. I can switch up 2 or down 3 stops in TTL or go from full power 1/1 to 1/32+ or off in manual mode, right from the camera, even if my lights are hundreds of feet away. My twelve year old T5d-R updated and fix cracked case is ready to server me for many more years and will not shut down because it's over heated.

I love the compact size of the charger, and it seemed to charge my lithium batteries quicker than my last charger.
