Crowds Watching Total Eclipse With Glasses

There are great eclipse-watching glasses

I ordered the eclipse glasses online and provided my phone number as part of the order form. The total purchase was less than $15 but in this time when online fraud is so common, they actually called me to confirm that I placed and wanted the order. I've never had that happen before and was impressed by how much they look after their customers. Thank you! As for the glasses, they're great too. Very dark lenses, as they need to be for an eclipse. When I tested them, the only thing you could see with them was the sun. I was concerned about what I'd get for such a low price but they're perfect. I recommend.

Had total confidence in these glasses, due to B&H’s great reputation for all things photographic, unlike eclipse glasses I might have purchased through a large online purveyor of everything, which sometimes has questionable quality. You don’t want to take chances with your eyes. Order was fulfilled promptly and delivery was very fast, which is consistent with our past experiences with B&H.

Used a pair of these eclipse-viewing glasses during the recent total eclipse. They were outstanding! So much better than the paper shades. Highly recommend!

I purchased these glasses to view the total solar eclipse from Lancaster, NH. The glasses were perfect for viewing. The earpieces hooked over our ears for a snug fit over our eyes. The lenses protected our eyes. I don't have a photo to share, but we're saving our glasses for the next solar eclipse.

I had originally gotten this to watch the total solar eclipse 2024. I then realized that i can use to for watching solar flares on other days too. This binoculars was a big hit during the eclipse and was used by many of my friends during the event. This is best used on a tripod to eliminate shake, which I do.

When I used this to measure the total eclipse on April, 8, I was watching it with a bunch of EMTs and Fire Rescue people. They watched me use it and take notes, lumens and time. They said, their captain said, Now we know you're a nerd. I measured from well above 125K, needle pegged, to 40, floating. I have a picture showing just how dark it got. No batteries required, state of the art. Totally analog. Get one. I use it daily.

This is a wonderful tool for solar viewing. We ordered four, one for each of us, for the 2017 eclipse. Using these magnified the sun ten times, to where the sunspots were easily visible. These are so much better than the glasses and made watching the eclipse more enjoyable. There seems to be some quality control problems though. Two of the four were perfect. One was distinctly lighter than the other three which caused a concern (there are three darkening filters inside each tube -- makes one wonder if one is missing in one). One arrived optically unaligned. With no time for exchange due to the nearness of the eclipse, we unscrewed the viewing lenses on the unaligned one to discover that the inside elements were at two different depths in the tube. It explained the problem. These are slid in and held in place by friction. This binocular arrived separately so its package may have been dropped in shipment. By lightly tapping the binocular against a padded hard surface, we were able to move both lenses forward. Then we cut a piece of soft lens cloth to cover the top of a nickel to push each lens back into the tube at the same depth. We added a nickel at a time until it focused mid-point in the binocular's center adjustment. We then reset the filters and screwed on the lens cap and it worked perfectly. We never unscrewed the cover for the less darkened binocular because we read that they are nitrogen filled. It works fine but it makes one wonder if it is working on two darkened filters rather than three. The cost is very reasonable and it made watching the eclipse more enjoyable. In the end we never used our glasses, only these.

These glasses were great for watching the 2017 solar eclipse. They were out of stock when I ordered them but B&H shipped them out exactly on the date they said they would and they arrived in plenty of time for the eclipse. Thank you for the great service!

These were very comfortable glasses for watching the eclipse! Definitely recommend them for anyone else interested! The cell phone filter worked as well.
