Crucial 1Tb M550 2.5 Solid State Drive

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it! 5 |

I bought the MyCloudEX2, a Crucial M550 SSD, and Newer Technology Adapta Drive all from B&H. It all went together quickly and now have all files shared on my home network. The adapter came with the screws to mount the SSD and the bigger screws to slide in the 3.5 bay. Quick, easy, light weight but not weak. 5 |

The crucial solid state drive installed with ease. I have double the storage memory and it's 5 or 6 times faster than my old hard drive. That's a win win for me. Joe C. Charlotte, N.C. 5 |

This is third Crucial 1TB drive I have used to upgrade desktop and laptops. Crucial's Acronis software makes cloning the drive simple and easy. Compared to the old mechanical HDD, this SSD results in a significant performance improvement in terms of bootup time and app startups. Very pleased. 5 |

I had a Crucial SSD that was only 256GB. It was a few years old and filled up to 90%. I started to get some software lagging time in opening and overall windows freezing up. I don't know if it was due to the SDD filled near to the max or corrupt software. Generally, I like to do a complete reinsall of Windows every year or two to get rid of these problems, so opted to put in a 1TB drive so there will not be any more issues with the drive getting full. I love the SSD, now only have 1 moving part in my laptop, the cooling fan. This 1TB SSD is actually lighter by 1/2 the weight of my 256SSD. The SSD comes with software that partitions the drive, leaving 10% for memory...I'm trying that for a 1st time to improve speed. Note that 1TB does not equal 1TB of usable space. I think that's a little misleading of all HD/SSD's but was understood going into my purchase. 5 |

It fits the Samsung 1TB 860 EVO SATA III 2.5 Internal SSD drive perfectly and work great as an external drive for photo editing on a Mac. 5 |

I have this connected by USB 3.0 to a Asustor AS5304T 4-bay NAS. Setting it up was easy after the supplied USB cable broke as soon as I went to use it. First test was installing 1tb WD hhd's, works fine. Then I decided to see if I could figure out a way to install 2.5 ssd's. I found on Thingiverse a 3D model of a drive adapter that I could print and use. Made that and put a Crucial MX500 1tb ssd on it. This was able to be inserted into a bay and recognized. That works. BTW - These drive so far were NTFS. Here is where it I had an issue. I tried installing a 2.5 Seagate 5tb hhd formatted with a NTFS volume. This did not work. The Sabrent station changed it to show up as a GPT protective partition. I next installed A WD 4tb hhd and got the same results. After googling this problem I found that someone had contacted Sabrent about it and the suggested to do a low level format. I know that doing this would tie up a drive for ages before completion. Here is what I did: 1. In Windows I used Diskpart and performed a Clean. Then used Disk Management, initialized the disk and did a simple exFat volume. This worked on the drives I wanted to use that were over 1tb. Why? I did more reading and from what I understand is that it has to do with the disk sector sizes. This I don't need to understand for I only care about getting to a usable enclosure with larger drives. I have even read elsewhere that some people got so frustrated that they put it aside to collect dust. I hope this helps them. Overall, I am please with this product except for that junky USB cable. 5 |

This is an awesome deal for around $ . Previously, I purchased a separate 2.5 internal 1TB drive plus an external enclosure and paid almost $ . This drive is just a tad bigger, but looks much better. USB 3.0 is very fast compared to USB 2.0. Overall very nice product. 5 |
