Like many who buy these speakers I read lots of reviews first, both in journals and on websites and from customers who bought them. Yeah, they are expensive but if one considers them high-quality bookshelf speakers rather than high-quality computer speakers they are a bargain. Yes, I am using them as computer speakers but only because I already have large, dedicated sound-system floor speakers. While the A5+ speakers are inspired by studio monitors they are more versatile. First of all, like monitors they will not improve a bad recording. I noticed right away how poorly engineered and recorded some of my favorite 60's rock songs were. And like monitors I can hear things on the recordings such as coughs, dropped objects, and percussion instruments I'd never heard before. But unlike near-field monitors they have a wider stage presence. I have my speakers about ten feet apart and could certainly separate them more without losing that presence. The sound quality is incredible - clean and crystal clear. Some buyers might consider a sub but I am perfectly happy with the bass they produce. I'd rather hear the music the way it was intended to be heard. No messing with equalizers or tone dials. Build quality is incredible. Some folks might not think the design is modern enough, but for me, the understated, matte finish and simple design is exactly what I wanted. The main speaker is heavy, but when you consider what Audioengine put in it, I am amazed it's not heavier. As for the cooling fins, I have not yet noticed them getting even slightly warm. So am I happy with this purchase? Absolutely. Love the speakers and love the service B&H provides. 5 |

I needed computer speakers that got loud enough for me to hear over my teaching without raising the computer volume beyond 50% (which would make the volume too loud for my zoom participants). I think I tried every pair of small speakers, and these got the loudest (louder than Bose!). The sound is fine for my purpose of teaching a movement class to music over zoom. The separate bass and treble controls are a bonus. I wish they were smaller to store, but they do the job needed, and I am so happy to have found a solution without having to get more complicated with my setup. 5 |

Full disclosure, these are my first audio monitor speakers so I have no direct comparison. That said, I do usually use my home theater audio to check final products and edit with Beyerdynamic DT700 ProX headphones so I feel like I know good sound when I hear it. The difference in using my iMac audio for reference when editing vs these is night and day. I can't believe I waited so long to invest in proper audio monitor speakers. I think the most notable thing about these is how full they sound. They are not large speakers but they provide sound that seems to come from inside my brain. great balance between lows and highs. the bass is definitely defined without being muddy or drowning out mids. trebles are equally clear and easy to notice without any harshness. The only negative aspect with these is the subtle hiss they emit when turned on. I'm told this is normal and it's just what you get at this price point for powered audio monitors. After only two weeks I'm getting used to it and I turn off the speakers when not in use. When using them actively, the hiss is too quiet to hear and doesn't interfere with my work, but it's worth knowing. 5 |

Using this to dictate and I only wanted one ear covered so I could also hear the computer audio through the speaker system. Does the trick. The microphone pick up is accurate and works well with the dictation program. 5 |

I have a dell inspiron 3847, came with 8 gig of ram. I'm using it for music production, cubase and a lot of vst instruments. Well the day came to add more ram. Because this computer is a bit older, it maxes out at 16 gig. The Crucial 16GB DDR3 1600, was the only thing I could find for an upgrade. These specs are not the fastest, but the mother board would not accept DDR4. Swapping the ram was easy. On restart the computer recognized there was a hardware change, went to settings and ran a diagnostic, than restarted and works great. OS Windows 10 64bit. If your doing music production, I recommend 32GB or more if your computer will accept it. 5 |

I was looking for a solid audio interface to go along with my Mac. I use it with Cubase but also to mix external audio with application audio into an output (I use CASTER for that). My choice fell on the Ultralite based on the mix of audio performance, physical controls on the unit and the software it comes with. And really it fully delivers. Installation was very easy. Recording via the mic input works great, the loopback function to record application output into Cubase works great. I love the fact that i can set the level of the mic input right on the interface using a level meter (my old interface just had an overload warning). And last but not least the headphone output works great. It sounds good and delivers enough power for my needs. 5 |

I do Youtube content creation and I was looking to replace my 3 piece computer speakers that I previously used for pc gaming with something more mature and accurate with sound profiles for audio recording. These are excellent for the intended purpose given that they only cost $200 but reflect sound you'd expect in a professional studio. I will say that they provide adequate bass but if you really want the thump and vibration for bass heavy frequencies you'd probably also want to spend on the subwoofer that can be purchased separately, I haven't turned these up full volume yet because I don't feel like intentionally angering neighbors but the audio is enough to fill whatever room you put them in and possibly the next several rooms as well. Very pleased with my purchase 5 |

I use this to control audio volumes out from my computer with knobs not software , control amplified speakers and a separate headset control , i could easily add instruments or micro phone to my computer recordings , its pure analog so no USB , sounds really great better than straight computer to speakers i think , a little preamp is inside and it helps , but keep in mind its a mackie mixer and who does a better job of mixer design ? not many if any , its a little tank i needed a little interface and this is over the top nice for me 5 |

Was looking for audio speakers for the system tied into the computer, tuner, everything else that wasn't tied to the home theatre system. These are perfect. Clean sound, clean bass. 5 |
