Curved Soprano Sax Case

The K&M Soprano Sax Stand is a solid secure stand that I don't have to worry about tipping. I can carry it to gigs in my case but the fit in my case is a little too snug too feel comfortable with using it for regular storage. I'm definitely happy with this stand.

I bought this case to store my curved soprano saxophone. The case is lighter than the protector series, yet retains all the strength. The latches are more like the ones on a storm case with the button to push to open them. Very happy with this case, and am sure it will last a lifetime.

Securely holds my soprano sax and attaches/detaches quickly and easily to my Hercules alto/tenor stand. I like that it's adjustable up/down and won't damage my horn's finish. This should be obvious, but I'll mention that this peg will work only for a straight soprano sax.

Just bought a new straight P Mauriaut Soprano. The K&M securely supports the sax, practically impossible to tip, and fits into the bell inside the case. It protrudes about 1/4”, but still works. Just check your clearance at the bell to make sure it works with your particular case.

I've worked with many saxophone players and I played woodwind instruments. Not saying that I am an expert but I do have some experience with wind instruments. I am keyboardists with years of working with sampled saxophones. The samples have become better over the years but SWAM physical modeling is superior for duplicating the nuances and articulations of a real sax player. The only weak link is me. I need to think sax and not keyboardist when I use the SWAM plugin. My wife is a musician and when I would try to emulate a sax she would say 'that doesn't sound real'. Then I let her listen to a song with the SWAM Sax she said 'WOW, that's not you you're trying to fool me'. You won't be sorry with the SWAM Sax Virtual Instrument.

If you have read the specs you already know that this case is heavy and very large. This may make it unwieldy for some people to handle, even when empty, but once it is on the wheels it is easy to move about. The large interior size makes this case very versatile. Large items such as long benchrest rifles with expensive optics, surveying instruments and bulky camera equipment, as well as musical instruments, can be safely transported. I can fit an alto sax, a tenor sax, a laptop, some electrical equipment, and some literature in my case with ease. The saxes ride in their own cases within the 1770. The foam can be configured to hold a large number of smaller items such as cameras, iPads etc. It is easier to keep track of one large case at the airport than it is to do so for multiple dedicated cases. The latches are very sturdy, and the provision for locks seems to be robust. It would be nice if the case had a side handle, for that would make it easier to one person to carry the case over rough ground where the wheels would not function well or could be damaged. I am very pleased with my 1770.

This pelican case was the perfect size to safely transport our son’s tenor sax without worry of it being damaged in any way. We used it to ship his vintage sax across the country for refurbishment and it made it to its destination with no problem! Pelican cases are virtually indestructible and you would be hard pressed to find a better transport container for almost anything! We used an electric carving knife to precisely cut out the pattern for his sax after we traced its outline on the foam. Came out much nicer than removing the foam cubes by hand!

I love this thing. Puts together in a flash. Stores in the bell of my sax in the case, so no extra bag or box to carry. The legs are metal, and because there are five of them, it's nearly impossible to tip over.
