I've been using a Mac since 1988 and eventually ended up with several laptops over the course of 20 years. Unfortunately, my MacBook Pro reached the end of its life. My Mac needs consist of online teaching, some video applications, but mostly music creation (must be able to handle core audio). I looked at iMacs and Mac Pro models, but they were out of my price range. The Mac Mini was the answer: Compact, cute, more processing power, 64GB RAM, 6 cores, portability, solid state drive, and more. It's super cute and extremely powerful. Merging my Time Machine back up from my defunct laptop was a breeze. Catalina, the latest system, was already installed. Moreover, I was able to upload various DAW programs (Logic and Studio One...) with ease. I opted for the 500 GB Solid State Drive, but I recommend 750 or 1TB as you'll eventually need the space for pictures, video, or whatever your heart desires. B & H helped me choose both the perfect mouse and keyboard. To wrap it up, this machine is a winner and the 5-star rating is beautifully justified. 5 |
