Delete Google Drive Files From Desktop Computer

Added storage drive to my desktop computer.

This is a great hard drive for automatic backup of my computer files.

So far so good! The transfer rates are fast. I love how I can backup files from my desktop computer (USB) and plug directly into my laptop without extra cables. And as always B&H products and service are top notch.

For the past two weeks I have been using my new 1.5 TB Elements drive to back up my desktop system. If I leave my processor on overnight, my Acronis True Image 2012 software makes three full backups: a disk image of my C drive, a copy of all C drive files, and an image of e-mail files, after which it shuts down the processor. Since the Elements drive goes into an idle mode, I leave it on all the time. It is large enough to save multiple copies of each backup type, and is fast enough to get the job done in less than two hours.

This drive works well for quickly transferring files from my desktop to my laptop, and for storing files as well. I really like the slide-out connector feature.

I use this drive to back up files from my desktop that I take with me when I travel. Having no interest in WD's backup software, I was concerned that the software would be preinstalled and difficult to remove, as was the case with previous generation Passport dirves. The software is NOT preinstalled, but resides as an executable file in a folder on the drive: If you do not want the software, simply do not install it. This folder also contains some useful diagnostic utilities and installing those is the easiest way to register the drive, which I recommend. After I did that, I moved the entire folder to another drive, which leaves a completely empty drive. Although some users of 5400 RPM drives claim that they are not appropriate for storage, I have never found this to be the case. I have large RAW and .tif files as well as .wavs and various video files and all work fine. This drive is quiet and runs cool. Although it does not have an off switch, unplugging it is not a problem. It is a USB 3.0 drive, but functions fine with USB 2.0. A SATA connection would be nice, but I've had no issues with speed whatsoever.

I bought this drive to backup and replace the identical one in my desktop computer. The old one worked great and so does this one.

I struggled for years with an old PC desktop. This last year when trying to do my taxes I had to delete a file from 2013 and reload the current one as well as add a file I didn’t know anything about. That was the final straw. I decided to switch to Apple products. WOW! What a difference! For sure there is a learning curve, but not one that makes me want to throw the computer out the window. I am very happy with my new MacBook Air and wish I had done it sooner.

Some complain of its weight, it has big batteries giving the absolute longest recording time of 10 hours and more. Others complain how when uploading recorded files the user cannot delete files freely, since integrity of the user must be at its highest there should be zero access to delete any files. The rugged body and solid nature give a huge amount of confidence. My team has made several purchases of this particular camera and are fully pleased by its performance.
