Works great once its set up correctly in the bios. Installed alongside the oem wd_black m.2 and used the included acronis subscription to move my OS over to the sn850x. I had to reset the cmos to get it to boot, and had to reformat the original drove to stop windows from reverting my boot order. I was initially disappointed in my benchmark scores before realizing that the pci lanes are intertwined in a way that both drives are affected. Basically, it made my original drive appear much faster than normal and the sn850x slower than advertised in testing. In real-world use, its fast and stable though. The dashboard app is also nice to have as well. Mine is mounted behind the GPU with no heatsink and never reaches above 60° at full load. 5 |

This card has it's own bios that boots when you boot the computer. I have 2 sets of HDD's configured as RAID 1 (mirrored). Great for secure storage. If the computer fails, it should not affect the data. If you blow a HDD, you can replace it and the array will rebuild itself. You can take the entire assembly and move it to another computer without data loss. It integrates itself for drive configuration as if it were plugged into the SATA bus. One caution....Make sure you purchase RocketRAID and not just a RAID card. The RAID card doesn't have the spin down function. 5 |

Installed in a 5 year old Dell desktop. Immediate increase in boot speed, large programs load noticeably faster. 5 |

I recently acquired a Dell 5180 workstation. It has a mirror pair of boot SSDs but not local storage. Fine for an enterprise workstation, but not a home system. The Icy Dock enabled me to add two more 2.5 HDDs and a multi-card reader to teh only 5.25 bay. Only complaint, had to purchase a SATA power splitter. Would have been easy to include in packaging. 5 |

I installed this in my new Dell XPS8900 as an Intel cache and it has made a dramatic difference. After several cycles, boot up is way faster than before. PCmark7 went from 3847 to 5712. The 1TB rotating disk sequential 4k read speed increased by a factor of 14. Installation was easy as the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software came installed in the Dell. 5 |

I bought this card about six months ago to the SATA SSD in a Dell Precision 5810 workstation using a 1 terabyte Samsung 970 Evo Plus as the boot drive. It was easy to setup and the performance has been great. I work in technology for a living and have been buying parts like this from StarTech for 10 plus years and I've never been disappointed with their products or their support. If I were, I have no doubt they would take care of it. Before you install any kind of PCI Express card to use an NVMe SSD as a boot drive, do the research to make sure your systems supports it. Otherwise, that's on you for not "reading the directions". 5 |

Installed as a replacement for my boot drive in a Dell 7773 (had 2TB HDD, SLOOOWWW). Instant boot. Recommendation: use Macrium software to clone/move if that is what you are doing. Watch the videos on YouTube... very functional. A++ 5 |

If you can find one and have a bios available why not. 5 |
