I bought a used Lenovo W510 laptop which had a combined headphone/mic jack. Nice computer, but I wanted to use it with Audacity to make digital recordings. This unit is inexpensive, plugs in and works just great. Small enough to carry it in the bag with the laptop. 93 dB s/n ratio gives clean, quiet recordings. Recommend to anybody who gets a computer with combined headphone/mic jack. 5 |

It does exactly what I need. I have a high end stereo receiver and speakers connected to my iMac computer analog audio output (headphone) jack. The receiver also is connected to several other analog audio sources. I have had persistent issues with hum in the audio from the computer. I tried all sorts of things, floating grounds, reversing plugs etc and nothing worked. putting the HE-18 in line with the computer completely eliminated the hum with no adverse side effects to the audio quality. I really appreciate the flexibility of all the various input and output connections. I now have a convenient extra port where I can plug in headphones for private listening when needed. (Unlike the idiots at Apple who put the headphone jack on the back of the iMac. What were they thinking?) The engineer who designed the HE18 deserves a lot of credit. He really did his homework. 5 |

My desktop computer only has 1 headphone jack. I wanted to be able to listen to music/video/games with my girlfriend. we each can now hear perfectly with sepereat headphones. 5 |

My mom uses computer speakers connected to the headphone jack on her Mac Mini. The jack failed (evidently this isn't uncommon). As an inexpensive workaround, I picked up this USB audio adapter, and it worked like a charm. Even plugged into a USB hub, it stays recognized and selected in the Sound System Preferences pane even after rebooting and waking from sleep. 5 |

I use this cable to take the output from the headphone jack of my computer to the XLR inputs of my interface. The cable and connectors are very good quality, and the cable splits in the middle, which is much more preferable than a cable that splits right at the mini plug connector. And the splitter is molded and rugged which will prevent cable strain from damaging the cable. But remember, since the cable splits in the middle, the reach of each XLR is approx. 50% of the cable length. So if your monitors are, say, 10 feet apart, you need to order at least a 10 foot cable. 5 |

Use this for PowerPoint presentations at conferences. Computer headphone jack out to the Whirlwind, plus a Y cable XLR that mono-sums everything, then into the Mackie. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since the iPhone no longer has headphone jack and we travel together a lot, I enjoy sharing my headphones with my husband and could no longer do so. Got this to use and it’s been working great so far. I don’t hear background noise like some have said, and it hasn’t stopped working or anything like that. I would recommend! 5 |
