Dell Computer With Combined Mic And Headphone

I bought a used Lenovo W510 laptop which had a combined headphone/mic jack. Nice computer, but I wanted to use it with Audacity to make digital recordings. This unit is inexpensive, plugs in and works just great. Small enough to carry it in the bag with the laptop. 93 dB s/n ratio gives clean, quiet recordings. Recommend to anybody who gets a computer with combined headphone/mic jack. 5 |

I use this cable to connect various components to the headphone or mic jacks on my computer. This cable seems to be well made with fairly heavy wire and quality cable ends. I haven't had it long enough to discover how well it will hold up over time, but I expect it last as long as I don't abuse it. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little mic to start your own streaming videos or video conferencing. Would not be for professional use but great for someone starting out or just a replacement for a computer mic. It's very easy to set up and get started; just plug and play. It can be used on any device including your phone or computer. Comes with a USB to USB-C cord. It has both a headphone and USB-C plug in on the back. A simple control knob to control headphone volume and you can push it to mute the mic. Recording is much better than my built-in mic on my computer. 5 |

Like so many others during the pandemic, I had to switch to remote work for my job, and I also started making regular guest appearances on several of my friend's podcasts. I'm not paid on sound quality for this, obviously, but I needed an upgrade, and an all in one USB mic with a headphone amp for $99 fit the bill perfectly, especially with the little desktop stand included. From literally the first sentence I spoke on our daily Zoom call, everyone could tell that I'd made a major microphone upgrade. The sound quality is crystal clear and much more direct, instead of sounding like I'm yelling at a mic across the room, which was the case with my computer's mic even when I was right in front of it. I did my first podcast appearance last night and the response was exactly the same: The guys now want me on there a lot more often, which is a blessing and a curse, to be perfectly honest. I saw another review here about the headphone amp having low volume, but it actually has significantly MORE volume than the one on my computer, so maybe it's a difference in his headphones. The only slight negative that I've found is that you can hear the mute button turn on and off (there's a little click) but after pressing it a bunch of times it seemed to loosen up and the click is now much less noticeable. All in all, this thing is a slam dunk, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade from their stock computer mic at a reasonable cost. 5 |

Mic, Pre-Amp, and Headphone Amp in an all-in-one package! Nice to be able to use a USB mic without the need for a separate pre-amp. Really like the headphone jack incorporated into the unit with separate gain controls for the headphone volume. 5 |

bought a dell windows 10 computer with 4 g memory. the thing couldn't do anything not enough memory. Dell wanted way too much to upgrade the memory so i looked up the stats and i ordered this. The computer now functions great. So i added 4 x the memory and i still have the option of installing the 4 g in addition to the 16 but i don't really need it since the 16 is now pleanty to run the system for my needs. 5 |

Every once in a while you are still going to need a headphone jack adapter for music or a mic. 5 |
