I'm using the Magewell HDMI Gen 2 capture device (USB3.0) 1080P to capture HDMI output from my Sony RX 10 Mark II. The Magewell is connected to a Dell Latitude E6330 with a StarTech USB 3.0 ExpressPort card running Fedora 30. On the Linux laptop, I stream over ethernet using Open Broadcast Software (OBS) to another machine running NGINX streaming server using the rtmp module. Playing around with the frame rates, I'm only able to get about 10FPS streaming 1080P consistently. I suspect this is a limitation of the eight year old Dell and it's i5-3340M chip. Love the Magewell..totally solid. I've been running it every day for one month straight. No problems, just plug in your camera and Magewell just recognizes it. Magewell also provides rock solid, simple to use Linux software too. Kudos to Magewell! 5 |

I bought this for my Linux desktop and it works great. Only complaint is that Linux doesn't work well with safely eject feature of os, just have to reboot. 5 |

Excelent product indicated for servers. I dont recommend it for desktop because it doesnt have audio feature. I use it with Dell Servers that use usb ports for mouse and keyboard. It didnt work the hot key to change of Pc on the linux, just with windows. On the linux it is necessary use the buttons on the hardware. 5 |
