I bought this when I ordered the 16 MacBook Pro, my first with a Thunderbolt 3 only computer. Before that I have an old cheese grater and a MacBook Pro with the proper SD card slot, and you can imagine I have quite a bit of external devices. Actually I run out of ports when using my new MacBook in clamshell mode, I literally used up all the ports and still looking for a place to plug in my gaming mouse. It is not really the fault of the dock, just that I have too many devices, and to its credit, for all those connections, it takes up very little real estate on my desk. One nice feature of this dock is the SPDIF optical port, not many docks out there has this, and is great to have high quality signal going to my DA converter. Although rated only at 85W, the previous standard, it has no problem keeping my 16 MacBook Pro charged even when playing games. Overall very happy with it. 5 |

I wanted to use my older Thunderbolt 2 dock from OWC with my new MacBook Pro that has the USB-C connector. This adapter works perfectly for that and allowed me to connect ethernet, monitor, keyboard, drives, and so on with just 1 connector. 5 |

very nice dock for MacBook Pro. And extra thunderbolt 3 port at back is real support connections which you might need. Fast delivery. Good price. 5 |

With the newer Dell XPS laptops largely abandoning USB-A ports, wired Ethernet ports, and HDMI/DisplayPort ports, having a dock is pretty much necessary for expansion as many current peripherals are still USB-A. I have an earlier Thunderbolt 3 dock on my work-proved Dell Precision, and it requires 2 cords to the laptop, where this Thunderbolt 4 only requires 1 - and has 130W charging pass-through (from the 180W power brick) so it can keep up even when pushing the machine hard. And I'll be able to hook it up to my wired network for throughput greater than what I can manage with WiFi. 5 |

For my new MacBook Pro M1, I first tried purchasing Caldigit's new Element Thunderbolt 4 hub. It was nothing but an endless kernel panic with the M1 chip. Caldigit implied that was Apple's fault for their implementation of Thunderbolt 4 ports, but I didn't let them make me stick around long enough to sort out who's fault it was. I returned it, and bought this OWC one and it's been SO much better! No panics yet, sleep works fine, everything returns from sleep (whereas Caldigit's would consider my Pegasus2 RAID an erroneous disconnection everytime it slept), and it's actually really nice having SPDIF (digital) audio out, ethernet, and the card readers. I wish this had one more thunderbolt port out, but then again, I could still daisy chain a couple of my thunderbolt devices no problem. So far so great for this OWC 14-port T3 dock. 5 |

Works perfectly for me. I use it in conjunction with a Belkin Thunderbolt 2 Express Dock to give me a docking solution for my MacBook Air that gets me access to an external keyboard and mouse, ethernet, sound and from the dock to this wee beastie via Thunderbolt and one USB for dual displays. Easy and quick to set up (I plugged it all in and it went). I've not tried it for video (apart from a few YouTube clips that worked fine), so can't confirm or deny those reports. The two displays show up as one big display on the MacBook, which is less than perfect but entirely manageable. Has worked flawlessly for the last couple of weeks since it arrived. 5 |

I purchased the Xcellon Portside Dock to expand the functionality of my 2020 MacBook Air. Disappointingly, the MacBook Air only provides two Thunderbolt 3 ports for peripherals, one of which I usually have connected to the power supply. In addition, the Thunderbolt 3 ports are not compatible with the older USB connectors that I used with my older MacBook Pro, making it impossible for me to connect my MackBook Air to the peripherals I regularly use with USB connectors. The Xcellon Portside Dock allowes me to connect to my MacBook Air using those older USB connectors. In addition to that, the Xcellon Portside Dock has an SD card slot, which I use to download photos to my MacBook Air. In short, I find that the Xcellon Portside Dock makes my MacBook Air a more versatile and functional machine. 5 |
