The speaker has a nice bass sound. It pairs well with the Sony 5.1 receiver with the RCA cord (included) . It has a power save switch on the back. You can leave it on all the time, or you can have it "click" off when there is no signal. Sometimes when the volume is low it clicks on and off during a single song depending on the strength of the bass signal. This can be fixed by just leaving it on all the time. I have a multi-plug surge protector to turn everything off when not in use. 5 |

Sony never disappoints in the A/V bang-for-the-buck segment! Add this to a 5.1 speaker package and a 4k TV, and you're all set! Sure, it has no streaming apps or Dolby Atmos, but if you're looking for QUALITY 5.1 at a good Price Point...you SERIOUSLY need this receiver! 5 |

This is my first Sonos speaker and wow! I have an expensive Definitive Technology 5.1 package for our main space and a 2.1 Bose system in our master. These are 5-6 years old now but this one little speaker blows the Bose out of the water and it's nearly as impactful the 5.1 system. I haven't looked into multiple speakers for various rooms yet since I only have one but this little guy has sold me on Sonos! Great job Sonos team!! 5 |

I replaced an old Sony STR-DH550 with this Denon and I am very pleased with my purchase: * I only need 5.1 why pay for 7 or 9 or 11? * it has an excellent on-screen display for setup * it has a phono input, letting me relive my vinyl glory days * it has banana plug jacks, making swap-out a breeze Things that gave me pause: * switching video inputs causes a brief black-out, while the receiver adjusts to the new frame rate and resolution. This turns out to be worth it, because it adjusts between 24fps and 30fps depending on the source Have not tried yet: * upscaling. I think my Sony TV is probably better equipped for this so I don't need your upscaling thank you very much 5 |
