Matthews is among the top names for lighting and grip equipment. Their C-stands are time-tested. I've used less expensive brands, which are fine for occasional use. If you want the most rugged, battle-proven stands in the business go with these. One of the biggest differences between the Matthews and other brands is the knuckle or grip head. Lowest cost units aren't as smooth and sometimes freeze up. I've had to hit these other brand heads with a wrench to free them up. If you work a lot and/or appreciate fine craftsmanship, go with Matthews. If you only use C-stands occassionally, you can probably get by with the lower priced unit. 5 |
