Desktop Computer Power Units

This is a great backup power source. I use it to make sure power interruptions don't shut off the computer or peripherals. Lots of outlets. Six for surge and battery backup, six for just surge protection. This is more than most other units. It's also smaller than most other comparable units. Many backups are nearly as large as a computer unit. This is not. It's more like an oversized power strip. There are some outlets that are spaced away from the other to accommodate larger plugs. Most other units don't have this feature. This unit also has a fantastic price, nearly 40% less that larger units with less outlets and less backup time. After receiving and testing the first unit, I purchased five more. You will not go wrong with this uninterruptible power supply. And B&H is the best retailer to purchase from. B&H shipsquickly. I use this product to protect my computer against line noise and power failures. I like the reliability of them: I've had some units for 7 years now and they still work well. I only had to replace one of my 5 units in these 5 years, so I consider myself lucky and it vouches for the quality of these units.

I needed to install a SATA drive in a desktop computer, but had not spare SATA power feeds, only molex. This did the job!

I just bought this less than a week ago and we just had a power outage the other night and it performed perfectly. I have a a desktop computer, monitor and inkjet printer connected to the battery backup side and I had plenty of time to shut everything down properly. It also caught the power surges that were coming before the power went completely out. It's also a lot lighter than the unit it replaced, so it's much easier to handle and position to where you need it. I will buy another one when I need to replace another unit.

Unlike most reviewers, I have years of experience with this model. The display has changed a bit over the years but it's still the same. My location has about weekly power interruptions from limbs striking power lines, and without these a Windows desktop could be wiped out. A laptop couldn't care less. The screen might get a bit dim over the years, and the reassuring 100 percent reading on the battery charge can't be trusted after about 5 years. The battery is super simple to change, and cheap. I recommend that at 5 years you test the capacity by plugging in something like a floor lamp and pulling the plug, to see how long it lasts. Don't even think about getting a UPS that doesn't have Sinewave' in the description, because it's cruel to your equipment. I'm reviewing this, the fourth one, which I just got for a granddaughter who is an architect and using a powerful computer I built her. The unit can only handle 600 watts but actual measurements of the computer's and monitor's power needs show that this will do the job. If you are in a thunderstorm or the lights are flickering, you should power down a desktop anyway.

I bought this for my daughters desktop because her last one was damaged when the power went off several times which happens in our area. This has helped save the computer many times.
