Desktop Computer With Cd/Dvd Burner

I was surprised to find that the computer I wanted and would fit my needs did not have a built in CD-DVD reader/burner. The Asus External Blue-ray drive completely fills my needs.

Used as an external/portable CD/DVD player/burner for several machines. Is instantly recognized by Windows 7 and is available for use in a matter of a few seconds after being plugged in. It needs two USB ports but no other external power source.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last CD/DVD burner was the LG brand and it held up well. I use it primarily to copy music CDs for the car so that we don't ruin the originals.

I've used a regular CD/DVD Burner since February 2010. It's done everything I've asked it to, but this Blu-ray Burner is faster, quieter, and allows me to catalog important files without relying on finicky external hard drives.

It was very hard to find a CD/DVD external burner for my MacBook 12 laptop. It tried several but all needed extra external power even though I used the Apple adapter. The Apple USB SuperDrive works just great. Problem solved.

This is the first duplicator that I used and it worked flawlessly. The only thing I'd recommend is using the discs that the Microboards recommends, Taiyo Yuden. I used Verbatim CD-Rs and while I didn't get bad burns, the duplicator didn't like them when I used the test and copy feature. I was able to try them in the burner again and was able to get a successful burn.I was skeptical about getting a DVD/CD burner burner because I couldn't find many reviews about them. Since I've used B&H for years I felt confident buying this duplicator.Also, while this tower has five DVD drives in it there is room for two more. This provides excellent upgrading potential.

I actually own an LG burner (desktop external) and it's worked perfectly, but I was looking for one that's small, and I can throw into my bag, because since I DJ with my tablet, it doesn't have a burner, and lately I've been having a lot of independent artists come to me with music on CD and this has gotten the job done. I've been asked to burn a quick CD or my love mixing and again, has worked out perfectly! No issues what-so-ever.

Works great...I got a new Apple computer and it didnt have a CD drive. I needed a CD drive/burner, so I ordered this one and it is great! Small, compact if I should need to carry it with me. I recommend it highly!

My new Lacie external DVD burner came with two USB cables in case it needed extra power. Mine did, but my Mac powerbook pro, 2.16 Ghz has only one port on each side and the Lacie cables are not long enough to reach. This product solved that issue. However, I still have a problem with the drive. Almost every other time I use it the computer defaults to the computers DVD burner, which has an optical problem. So I have to reset the Pram every time this happens in order for the computer to default to the Lacie. Shouldn't be this way.

I have used this external DVD burner quite often when a computer I am working on does not have a DVD drive, so far is recognied right off, write speed is OK, works on wins 8,
