Nice that it is convertable to wall socket and car charger. Has flip out plug which helps keep it compact. Not too big--so it fits well in a small camera bag and lightweight. 5 |

Caught without a spare, i bought one. And a charger is a necessity, too. This one plugs into an ordinary socket, and has a car charger plug as well. So I can charge my spare while I drive. I also comes with a European adapter. And the price is perfect for all you get. 5 |

There's a lot to like about this charger: you can test battery strength (without even plugging it in to any kind of power), you can power by AC wall plug, or even by (provided) DC car-lighter plug so you can recharge batteries inside your car. I love the fact that I can change plates and recharge different batteries entirely (I just got the two independent plates to be for Nikon EL15's). You can even power a USB device at the same time, in case your digital camera or camcorder needs its batteries topped-up. There's overcharge protection that turns the device off automatically (to avoid harming batteries), as well as overheat protection. It even detects defective or shorted batteries and protects the charger. LCD screen is easy to read... charging time (right now) is around an hour, but it can take longer for older batteries. This thing weighs about 7.5oz (218g) and sits quietly in the corner doing its thing. :-) 5 |
