I once hated a heavy shoulder rig and the pain involved in using it. The rigs are just as heavy now, but the pain is gone. The Alan Gordon Enterprises Camera Comfort Cushion is the answer. Soft and pliable, and thick enough to cushion your shoulder.

Gordon Laings camera reviews on YouTube are superb and this book is full of the useful and interesting tips Ive come to expect from him. Im enjoying every page and learning things despite having been into photography for decades.

As a long time fan of Gordon Hutchings PMK but not of tray developing, I decided to try this formula which emphasizes ease of use and ability to use standard hangers (PMK creates developing marks when used with them). Although PMK is less expensive by volume, I can develop 4 8x10s at a time in one gallon (8 if I load back to back) with much less anxiety over scratch marks plus the ability to develop plus and minus in the same batch.

This engraved combo slate by Alan Gordon is a premium quality engraved white acrylic clapper slate for dry erase. Works just as good as the expensive one.

I'm not an expert on slates by any means, but I do know what it should be able to do. The Alan Gordon slate is easily the best I've used so far. It's lightweight, durable, and really well-made. It came in it's own zipper carrying case with an Expo brand dry erase marker. Unlike other, cheaper slates I've used, the clapper itself is made of very lightweight wood that gives it a really clean snap. It's nothing fancy, but it does simplicity well. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I've worked with many saxophone players and I played woodwind instruments. Not saying that I am an expert but I do have some experience with wind instruments. I am keyboardists with years of working with sampled saxophones. The samples have become better over the years but SWAM physical modeling is superior for duplicating the nuances and articulations of a real sax player. The only weak link is me. I need to think sax and not keyboardist when I use the SWAM plugin. My wife is a musician and when I would try to emulate a sax she would say 'that doesn't sound real'. Then I let her listen to a song with the SWAM Sax she said 'WOW, that's not you you're trying to fool me'. You won't be sorry with the SWAM Sax Virtual Instrument.
