Cant be beat for a large diaphragm under $100

I have no experience with any other large diaphragm mic to compare it to, but I am quite happy with the quality if this mic! I would definitely recommend it.

It is a fantastic wide-angle lens.Has rather small weight and the size, using with R4m, with ease is located in a jacket pocket.Sharpness remarkable on an open diaphragm.Not to catch hares))), I recommend to get lens hood.In the lens name Color-Skopar there is a direct hint on colour, photographing on a coloured film, it turns out to render that colour which exists, without lies.Black and white, certainly is classics, but here much depends on the chosen type of a film and proattendance process, however as well as in the colour.The unique possible minus when darkly, also there is no flash - is probably a small diaphragm of a lens.If diaphragm was 2.0 then it was invaluable... , well, the price has increased certainly)))... Though for dark conditions of shooting always there is a support or iso3200.Regards!

I really like the lens. Good resolution, good color reproduction. A small flaw is very easy to move the diaphragm ring, be careful not to accidentally change the diaphragm.

Upgrade to my most used lighting accessory - the very significantly overpriced Profoto Small Spot. The front lens and internal condenser lens are replaced by the Dedolight DP1, which gives alternate lenses and a diaphragm to control the circle of light very precisely. Want to light a single eye of the model? This Dedolight with the diaphragm unit will let you. Normal M size gobos also work in the Dedolight. A variety of lenses allow for the control of the light spread - often an issue with the Small Spot as supplied by Profoto. The Dedolight is very well built and solid design and it’s accessories make it unbeatable as a projection device.

I purchased these mics after watching several reviews. I must say I am not in any way disappointed. I can't believe I received two mics for the price of one.  After using this mic in a home studio (Mobile Home) I must admit I was surprised. The room has reverb (stand-in waves) and needed something other than the large diaphragm mic have or a shotgun. I have added some acoustic treatments but out is almost impossible to eliminate everything. Compared to my large diaphragm this mic eliminated all of my reverberent and excess sounds. I don't have a shotgun to compare to but I do think these mic's have a great sound in a boom application. I chose this mic instead of a shotgun because of the room, and I was not disappointed.

With a diaphragm 5 times bigger than most lapel mics, it captures a full spectrum sound with a nice bass. The wire is also less rumbly than usual. It sounds fuller than an excellent Sennheiser MKE 2. I watched a national TV station and they used the Sanken for all the deeper baitone-bass voices. In Japan it got a big innovation award, deservedly, for putting the diaphragm along rather than across the mic.

The images with this lens are very sharp. I enjoy macro photography, typically flowers. I typically use manual focus and this lens has a feature where the amount the focus changes depends on the speed you turn the focus ring. I've read reviews of people who don't like that feature, but I do like it. You can get close to the correct focus very fast and then turn the ring slowly for final focus. Combined with focus peaking it works great. I'm using this with an Olympus EM-1 mk ii and focus bracketing. I process the stack of images on the computer using other software. The only thing I don't like about this lens and I can't seem to change with any settings is that the lens diaphragm closes and opens for every photo during a stack. I often shoot a stack of 30 images and the lens diaphragm will close to take the photo, then open again as the lens is micro focused for the next image. You hear a slight chattering sound as the diaphragm closes and opens very fast for each image. With my Olympus lens the lens diaphragm closes down and stays closed while the whole stack of images is captured. It takes extra time to open and close the diaphragm and I'm concerned that this puts unnecessary wear and tear on the mechanism. So far it hasn't been a problem. Some people complain that you have to get too close to the lens at 1:1. But 1:1 on a Micro Four-thirds camera represents a subject width of only 17 mm. I usually don't shoot that small in the field. I would say 30 mm is a more typical size for me in the field. So far after using it for over a month with hundreds of macro photos I haven't noticed any problems with limited lens to subject distance.

Less messy than screens on goosenecks. Holds tightly on large diaphragm mics. Of course, distance to mic is fixed and may be a bit close in some instances. Mechanical construction is rugged. Here used on Neumann D-01 and TLM-103 microphones. Can be used together with elastic suspensions. Would be nice if they were available in different colors.

Unlike the cheaper USB mics, this has a large diaphragm and a headphone output. You can dial in several specific settings for different applications and connect it to an iphone or computer.
