Difference Between Memory Card And Usb Flash Drive
Harold's Mind | 2024-09-27 06:22:25 |
I've used slightly older USB 2 version of this memory card and others. The speed difference between the older ones I had and this new one was immidiate. The only slowdown on my system is the peak speed of the SD card itself. So the card reader performs like a champ. Transferring 2-5GB or more of video or photos has been a real fast pleasure. And at the inexpensive price you can get one for it's a no-brainer. I picked up a few, for when on the go, or for home use, etc. Highly recommended. 5 |

I wanted to know the actual Write speed, but didn't get a real world answer. But SanDisk is a GREAT brand (I have several USB drives & Memory cards), so I purchased the 512GB version and tested it myself connecting the USB-C plug to a new Galaxy S22 smartphone with USB-C port. - TEST RESULTS - Transfer of one 2.25GB Video file: Write speed: 43 MB/s Read speed: 100 MB/s - IMPORTANT NOTE: These results might be the optimal since it was ONE large file and the USB Drive was empty (except for that file when reading, so no fragmentation of any kind). With MULTIPLE files, the speed is lower, as on EVERY SSD, HDD, USB Flash Drive and Memory Card. - As every very compact USB drive with two different USB ports on each end that I have used, it gets a bit hot, but so far I never have any problem with any of them. - This one is compact, sturdy and clicks on each USB port position. It also has a hole for carrying. - I am Very happy with my purchase. - If you want faster Read/Write speeds, then an option is to buy Sandisk Extreme Pro SD Card and use an USB Card reader to use it as a USB Flash drive, but total cost is the double of this VERY COMPACT and STURDY USB Drive. Hope this helps other people. 5 |

Between, my web camera, my web headphones and the backup drive, my Scarlett Solo XLR to USB Microphone box and the phone charger, I was always out of USB ports on my MacBook Pro. NOT any more. Works Great! 5 |

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly. 5 |
