Difference Between Raw Image And Jpeg

On my 6D Mark II I shoot in RAW (of course) and JPEG for reference thumbs. With the Spyder software I notice there is no way to rotate the suggested color preset so you have to take your JPEG and crop everything else out so as to leave the Spyder color card remaining. From there you open that crop in SpyderCheckr software and everything will align perfectly. From there you save out your preset (in my case it's ACS) and then open your RAW version and apply the preset from there. I thought the colors were some 98% accurate so that's good enough for me (considering our images end up in archive anyways.

I use this drive for photo storage, interfacing with two Macs using Lightroom. Fast drive, plenty of storage for JPEG and RAW, so far. No problems. I would easily buy this again.

This card is FAST! It keeps up with burst shooting with the 40MP X-T5 writing both JPEG and RAW. I don't do much video, so can't really speak to that. I would highly recommend this SDXC!

I am amazed at the quality of the photos captured by this camera. The color rendition, edge and image acuity, especially with larger prints (8 x 10 for me) have exceeded my expectations, and are superior to anything I have previously enjoyed with either film or digital. I have run side by side tests comparing RAW to JPEG, and can't find any advantage to RAW-in fact the JPEG photos are superior. I suspect that the DIGIC 5 processer is the answer. I have avoided DSLR's until now because of their bulk and weight. However the SL 1 is smaller and lighter than my last Nikon SLR. I have large hands, but have had no problems with gripping the camera as a result.

A really feature full camera that shots RAW a jpeg. Great zoom as well as close up. Only drawback was the Haarlem of trying to register it on the Sony website.

If you want to capture high speed anything, this is the one! I am amazed at the 10fps speed and capacity to store large volumes of photos both in RAW and JPEG while shooting! Two card slots allows simultaneous separate file storage so you can file the RAW pictures for later and work on them in Photoshop and have immediate JPEG's available for customers on another card (any size) for printing or immediate viewing on a separate viewer. The sensor is remarkable. Shooting with ISO's over 1000 no longer concerns me when trying to get the f/stop down on fast moving objects or low-light. THERE IS NO NOISE in these photos even when ISO's are over 2500! With 19 cross-type autofocus points, you will want an L lens coupled to this to appreciate how fast the focus can be. Although I shoot mostly outdoors, I can't wait to take some photos at high speed sporting events. This is a serious camera for serious shooters, so expect to get what you pay for. Its a little heavy too, but hey - when your battery lasts for 2500 shots, its worth it.

Compact but ready for all of the RAW, DNG and JPEG files that I want to save. I travel a lot and shoot a lot of very large files, so this drive is ideal.

This lens works very nicely when shooting wildlife with a Pentax K-50. I am amazed how well very tightly cropped photos hold up with this combination. Autofocus is sometimes an issue in some situations for me, but I am able to switch easily to manual focus to get the shot. I normally shoot RAW+jpeg. One of my sample images is the jpeg file straight from the Pentax K-50. The second image was processed and cropped from the RAW file in DxO OpticsPro 10.

I am using two of these for a photography class that uses both RAW and JPEG files and they are pretty fast. They have a neat look to them and I like the metal around the edges. Seems like it will make them more sturdy. I would definitely purchase again if I need another.

Use to back-up digital photography RAW + JPEG images (produced by my Nikon D300) which can be as large as 14 megabytes each.
