Difference Of Woodwind And Brass Instruments

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

When the brass, woodwind and large percussion orchestra filled the 600 seat auditorium with raucous music for Honegger's King David, the speaking parts within our 100 member community chorus didn't stand a chance of being heard. All our funds had been spent on orchestra and soloists. But the hall had a sound system, and I had a guiet old field mixer. I also had experience with a predecessor of the OLM-10. I took a chance and ordered six. For less than $150, they delivered excellent sound from voices among the singers. The omnidirectional pattern made for evenness with untrained performers. Their self-powering and 20' cords made hook-up very easy. Congratulations Pearstone!

This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc.

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

Have used many step up/down rings. By far the nicest I've used. Brass ring really makes the difference.

Used this for vocals and it makes a really big difference in quality than just direct through an interface. Can't wait to try this on other instruments.

I have a Sunpak and a Hoya filter (each in smaller sizes), and even the Hoya feels less substantial than the B+W. I suppose the brass really does make a difference. It threads on very smoothly, and stays put even with incidental torque that would have otherwise loosened an aluminum ring. An added bonus is that the stock Canon lens cap fits snug with almost no play in the grip. Optics-wise, it's clear to the eye, so I can't complain.

I'm really digging the Chiaro filter line and I have been investing in their top of the lint 99-UVBTS but I wanted to see what the difference between the BTS and BT were all about. Same brass filter ring, same Schott glass, same 99% light transmission...the difference is in the knurling. To be honest, I haven't experienced knurling with filters before and I absolutely love the top and side knurling on the BTS - incredibly easy to grip at an angle to take on/off. The top knurling on this filter is like teeth on the top of the brass ring. This seems to be better suited for stacking another lens on and making sure it won't stick. You can still use the top knurling to get a grip on the filter to remove or put on - but after testing I prefer the top and side knurling the best. Price difference between the BTS vs BT is $5 so why not get the absolute best?

This is the first PolarPro item I have purchased, and I was not disappointed. Craftsmanship is superior, jewel-like. Brass makes a big difference. You won't want to go back to aluminum. I really like the gnurled sides of the filter. You can adjust it without taking your eye from the viewfinder..

I know it's a bit expensive for what it is but being made of brass really makes a difference. I feel confident in my ability to take on/off easily without binding. Highly recommended.
