I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. Another ND filter in my tool kit. Different brands can produce somewhat different effects. Some people like it, other's don't. I prefer to look at it as another option when making my picture. It is nice to have options. Optical quality is awesome, and that is what matters.
