I have quite a bit of experience with all kinds of stands used in both television studio production and travel situations, and this seems to be really sturdy and an exceptional value. I also want to recognize the great customer service on the part of both B&H and Photoflex. The bag with this kit had damage when I opened the box, and both entities cooperated to get a replacement to me quickly. 5 |

It's hard to tell what you're getting exactly when you order these types of stands off of B&H. In this case it turned out to be a good choice for my Godox SL 60 light - which I didn't want to risk on some flimsy light stand. This thing is tough, substantial, lightweight and so far seems perfectly durable. The diameter and overall size is greater than my other cheapo light stands and it inspires confidence. 5 |

I have had a few other types of c-stands and the Matthews stand is by far the best stand I have. If you are debating on this stand and the stand that has the turtle base, I would say to make your choice based on whether or not you need the saved space for storage. The turtle base is more compact in the sense that is can break down into two pieces, but if you are not struggling for space then save the money and buy this one. The other benefit to this stand is the leg that can raise. That has come in handy with awkward setups. 5 |

I've worked with over a dozen different types of stands over the years, and these little guys are incredible! Super stable, beefy, well-built, over-sized tubing. They don't go very high, but my uses, they are perfect to have as an option for everything from a light, replacement tripod, slider mount, etc. 5 |
